Stay for the weekend or spend the entire week to experience everything the area has to offer. Emerald Lake and the Hillsborough area provide year-round adventure and relaxation! Our cottage is just a short 4-minute walk (0.3 miles) from the serene Emerald Lake. The lake offers a neighborhood boat launch, four beaches, and nearby hiking in Fox State Forest for plenty of fun! The space Our cottage provides room for 6 guests to sleep. It features 3 bedrooms, 1 full bath (shower only), an open kitchen/living room, and a laundry/mud room. The kitchen is equipped with anything and everything you need to make your favorite meals. All bed linens are provided along with bath towels for each guest. Our home has Wi-Fi, beach toys, kayaks, and plenty of board games, toys, and videos to keep everyone in the family entertained. Activities: Looking for some adventure? Or maybe you prefer to relax a bit and rejuvenate? Either way, the Hillsborough area has something for everyone. -Spend the days fishing or lounging in the sun before enjoying a nighttime swim at one of the 4 beaches around Emerald Lake (aka Gould Pond). -Hop in one of our kayaks for a relaxing lake stroll. -Take advantage of our bicycles and go for a ride around the lake or check out the Contoocook River trail in town. - Launch your boat (boat launch is at the end of our road) and spend a day on the lake. *Bring your boat (5 mph or less) and fishing poles. The lake is stocked with several varieties of fish. The boat on the property is not for guest use. - Star gaze at night- they are incredible! -Relax in the backyard by the chiminea. -Take a hike through Fox State Forest to see Black Gum Swamp or Mud Pond. -Tee off at Angus Lee's 9-hole golf course located in town. -Take your quad or dirt bike for a ride along one of the many nearby trails located right in Emerald Lake Village District or near the Hillsborough town center. (Guests are responsible for checking local laws regarding ATV use.) Looking for more adventure? A little further away is the beautiful White Mountains and Lake Winnipesaukee with plenty to keep you entertained for days on end. If you like to shop, be sure to check out the Tilton outlets on your way. Cottage Amenities: -Bath towels and linens -Use of bicycles (2 adults, 2 children) -Use of 2 adult kayaks and 2 child kayaks (Guest must be able to transport these to the lake. ***Lifejackets are available for guest use (2 adults, 2 children under 50 lbs.). If you are unsure about life jackets, please bring your own. Use of floats and kayaks is at your own risk. -Beach toys, floats, and 2 beach chairs -Beach towels -Keurig-style coffee maker -Lobster Pot -Crock Pot -Board Games -DVDs and Videos Guest will need to provide their own: -Toiletries -Fishing gear -Firewood for outdoor chiminea -Bug Spray (recommended in the summer) -Extra blankets/linens (if you prefer) Guest access Guest will have access to the entire house except for the basement, the shed, and a few locked cabinets. There is parking for 2 vehicles in the driveway. No parking on the lawn. The boat on the property is not available for guest use, but guests are welcome to bring their own small boat (5 mph or less). Other things to note Currently, there is no parking at Eastman Beach (the playground beach). Eastman Beach is a 0.5-mile walk from our cottage (8 minutes). It can be accessed by foot, bike, boat/kayak-in, or drop off/pick up. Meeting House Beach is located just at the end of our road and is a 4-minute walk from the cottage. The boat on the property is not for guest use. Guest are allowed to bring their own boat. The boat launch is located at the end of our road. Small motor boats are allowed (5mph or less). Guest must be able to transport the kayaks to the lake which is 0.3 a mile down the road. The easiest way is to load them in the back of a truck or SUV.
