Six Sycamores is a private and spacious natural campsite within a short walk of the Verde River and Tuzigoot National Monument. Ample room for several vehicles & tents, with lots of shade. Includes two big tables, a firepit, and access to clean well water. Features a unique cluster of Sycamore trees, from young to ancient, and home to countless songbirds. If you like the peaceful tranquility of nature, or want a great place to stage your next adventure, then this campsite is perfect for you! Welcome to our Six Sycamores private campsite for tents, campervans and trucks! (No RVs or travel trailers). This is a large and secluded natural campsite nestled within a short few-minutes walk of the Verde River and less than a mile of Tuzigoot National Monument. This is our most spacious and desirable campsite, with ample room for several vehicles and tents. We include two large picnic tables and a large fire pit with plenty of room to gather around. Also within a very short walk of the campsite is a professionally maintained Port-a-Potty, and a garden hose offering limitless clean well water. The campsite features a unique combination of both young and ancient Sycamore trees, six individual trees in a cluster. Sycamore trees are in our opinion one of the most unique and interesting trees in all of Arizona. Especially during the fall months, there is nary a more quintessential "autumn leaf" as the majestic sycamore's. If you like autumn tones, calm natural vibes, and serene bird songs throughout the day, then this campsite would be perfect for you. A few choice examples of local activities to do on or very near to our campsite include: Bird watching, hiking, river rafting or tubing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, stargazing, and even rockhounding. This area conforms to the Arizona Dark Sky initiative, and while we are not dark-sky certified, we've had several guests compliment us on our location. When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study. The cliff walls of the Verde River offer clear and distinct sedimentary layers, and the frequent flooding of the massive sandy riverbed reveals countless undiscovered treasures. We gladly welcome pets, including horses, as long as the guests inform us of their presence, and takes care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess they may leave on the campsite. Leashes are required for aggressive or unfriendly pets. There is a professional horse-boarding field and stables adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders to follow the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood if they so desire. All of our campsites are kept clear of trash, weeds, and fallen limbs and we take pride in their presentation. Please let us know immediately if anything does not reasonably meet your expectations of a private natural campsite. Please remember that this is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde Riparian Greenway and the Verde River. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects. This site is suitable for tents, vehicles, campervans and trucks up to 16 feet. Sorry, no RVs or trailers are allowed. This listing is for a campsite, a firepit, 2 picnic tables and shared use of a nearby portapotty and wellwater from the hose next to it. There are no other amenities.
