The Sage is part of Hinterwood Inn and Cabins and sleeps up to four people. It has one bedroom with a king size bed and a daybed/trundle with two twin mattresses in the common area. It has a full kitchen with a gas stove, an apartment size refrigerator, a microwave, a regular coffee pot, and provided dishes, utensils, and pots and pans. It includes one full bathroom with a shower (no tub). It's approximately 500 sq. feet. Enjoy the private fire pit area and the gas grill outside. The space The Sage is part of Hinterwood Inn & Cabins in Keystone, SD and sleeps a maximum of four people, including children. It's one of the rentals in "the Inn" which means it's part of a larger building that hosts a few rentals inside of it. However, all of the rentals in "the Inn" have their own private outside entrances, private decks and/or patios, and private fire pit areas. We don't have shared spaces between rentals on the property and we don't have a lobby, but instead a self check-in process. The Sage is a spacious one bedroom rental with a king size bed in the large sunroom and a daybed/trundle that has two twin mattresses in the common area. With approximately 500 square feet of space, this rental has a large living room and a kitchen with a gas stove/oven, microwave, apartment size refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, regular coffee maker with some provided coffee and filters, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and several other basic essentials. It also has an outdoor gas grill, and a private fire pit area with a grill to cook over the fire. We tried to stock the kitchen with everything you might need to cook during your stay. The space also includes all of your towels, bedding, and essentials like toilet paper and paper towels. What we don't provide: shampoo and conditioner (only bar soap for the shower). The kitchen is usually equipped with a few random spices, oils, tin foil, etc., but these are not regularly stocked and are left from previous guests. The living area has a cozy gas fireplace and a TV with a DVD player, as well as some provided DVDs for you to enjoy. Keep in mind, the TV does NOT have cable or access to local channels. We have a few games and puzzles in the rental. The Sage has a PTAC heating and cooling unit in the living room as well as the sunroom bedroom. The PTAC systems also have a fan setting if you would just like to circulate air. The property (and the Black Hills area itself) has limited cell reception. We have satellite internet for the wifi, which may not be the blazing fast speeds you're used to but it's actually pretty good, and enough to communicate and plan your day trips. (Past reviews may mention slower speeds, which was before we got upgraded to Starlink satellite internet in the winter of 2021.) More about Hinterwood: Hinterwood is nestled in a quiet valley in the Black Hills of South Dakota and is centrally located to all the nearby attractions, including a 7.3 mile drive to the Mt. Rushmore National Monument. We are located 5 miles from Keystone and 6 miles from Hill City, both of which have shopping and restaurant options. The Hinterwood property encompasses nearly 20 acres of a peaceful valley and woods, bordered by Black Hills National Forest to the North and East. Hinterwood has 8 different vacation rentals spaced out across the property, as well as a chicken coop, friendly free-ranging chickens, a garden, and a new growing vineyard. Guests can walk right out their front door for a beautiful hike on public National Forest lands, or play yard games in the big open valley of Hinterwood. Among other trails and Forest Service roads to walk, you will have quick access to the noteworthy Centennial Trail, which is a 111-mile hiking trail that stretches through the Black Hills from Bear Butte to Wind Cave. The Centennial Trail will also lead you to Horse Thief Lake for a swim after just a ~25 minute hike. We are located on a gravel road (approximately 1000 feet of gravel off of Old Hill City Road, which is paved).
