Lake City Loft, with a spiral staircase entrance, encompasses the full 2nd story bungalow of a charming, remodeled 1915 home. Located on the outskirts of the eclectic Atwood neighborhood, guests will enjoy easy walking, biking, or driving access to nearby local favorite coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, & Lake Monona. The kitchenette boasts complimentary local coffee & beer that can be enjoyed on your own private balcony! We ONLY use non-toxic cleaning and toiletry products. The space ***DISCLAIMER*** Access to the Lake City Loft is via an outdoor spiral staircase with metal diamond plated steps. While the hosts will do their best to clear the steps of ice/snow in the winter months, it is NOT recommended to guests to book this space if they do not feel comfortable negotiating a metal spiral staircase. About the space: Two private, spacious bedrooms. The first bedroom leads to the outdoor balcony, which also serves as the private entrance/exit to and from the 2nd floor of the house. Between the two bedrooms, there is a full bathroom as well as a loft area that has a kitchenette and a nook for sitting down and eating, drinking, and socializing with your party. Guest access Street parking is free in this neighborhood. Driving is easy to navigate and we are close to a variety of places of interest. The Starkweather Creek Path (for biking, walking, running) is 200 yards from the house (access by exiting the property to the left/west). You will be within 3/4 of a mile to a variety of coffee shops, ice cream parlors, restaurants, breweries, etc. It's a great place to walk or grab a bike from one of the many BCycle electric bike rental locations around Madison. Other things to note Lake City Loft is an inspected and permitted rental unit by Dane County Public Health (#LICHMD-2021-00340) and the City of Madison (#ZTRHP1-2021-00049). Guests will have free street parking in front of the Lake City Loft (the driveway is small and is shared by two residences - it is off limits for guest parking). You will access the outdoor spiral staircase entrance to the private 2nd floor via the shared driveway alongside our house. The shared driveway is also used by our neighbors so please be respectful of their space as well. We do not allow smoking or vaping of any kind anywhere on the property and ask that you respectfully adhere to this rule. If you prefer to smoke, this would not be an ideal rental for you.
