The space The grandpa house is a hidden gem inside the mountains of the municipality of Cidra. Excellent space to disconnect you from the busy life of the city and get in contact with nature. You can walk, hiking, make a bonfire or just seat at the lake shore to recharge your batteries. Enjoy the views and the sound of the coqui during the sunset. Enjoy the stars and the night sky away from the city. Live the experience of the past and remember our grandparents. In the grandpa house you will live like them. In a adjacent structure you will have access to a traditional bathroom with a shower, small refrigerator and microwave. You will have the basic commodities but living like grandpa. This is a 8 hour experience, starting at 12pm and ending at 8pm on check-in time. Now with a double Kayak for a unique experience in the lake. Returning time for the kayak is at 5pm. The grandpa house and the mason house (where the traditional bathroom with shower, refrigerator and microwave are located). This is a rural and country property, surrounded by nature, creeks, and with direct access to Cidra lake. Right now the access road is not in good shape due the Hurricane Fiona in September 2022 and Ernesto Aug 2024. Drive carefully, but all vehicles can get access without problems. Vehicles like a Toyota Camry or SUV or 4x4. At this point we had no emergencies or situations with any vehicle, no matter the road conditions. The road is under repairs right now. Other things to note Use only Maps to drive to the property, you can get lost if use other apps like Apple Maps. Remember this is a rural rea with just a few traffic lights, we highly recommended to arrive early the 1st time for get familiarized with the area. Wi-Fi- Is no Wi-Fi signal in the Grandpa's house, but if you need to use it, you can access the Wi-Fi service close to the main house. You will be in the middle of 5 acres of land, in total contact with nature and in an emblematic property from the 50's. In simple words: there are no screens on the windows and you sleep with a mosquito net. Insects are a vital part of the flora and fauna and you can see a wide variety of them in the surroundings, from lizards to fireflies. In the same way, and despite the fact that we have an exterminator visit every 2 weeks, sometimes they can be inside the grandfather's house. A real, genuine and magical experience. For those not familiar with the local driving conditions, it's advisable to approach the journey with a sense of adventure and patience. The roads, while providing an authentic experience of the country's topography, may require a bit of adaptability from drivers more accustomed to city driving. Compact vehicles are more than capable of reaching our hidden oasis. The key is to drive safely, taking your time to navigate any twists, bumpy road, and turns with care. The reward for your efforts is an untouched sanctuary, where the untouched beauty of nature awaits.
