The space Located on the highest part of the residence, the Te Maka villa offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the crystalline lagoon of Moorea and the ocean from the NorthWest facing windows, french doors and deck. The villa’s contemporary Polynesian design incorporates ‘cathedral’ high ceilings with wind vents in the roof apex to channel sea breeze through the building for cooling. Ceiling fans have been installed to augment the natural cooling effect. Tropical hardwood is used as the primary building material, including hardwood floors throughout. Sliding doors in the kitchen, living room, bedrooms, sliding windows in the kitchen, and shutters in the bedrooms / bathrooms can open up the entire villa to the sea breeze. This is a villa for those looking for the airy, yogic feel of traditional Polynesian architecture, and an incredible sea view (not for those wanting a hermetically sealed airport hotel room!) The kitchen opens to the living room with a sofa and dining table, and TV. The kitchen is fully equipped, for self-catering, with a granite top island for casual dining. The villa has a laundry room with washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron. On the terrace, you can enjoy a jacuzzi (note this is not a hot tub, it is an un-heated jacuzzi for cooling off on hot days), or simply relax and admire the view from the lounge chairs. A gazebo on the deck ("fare pote" in Polynesian) provides a shaded area to have lunch outside.
