Welcome to Beach Hill, one of the most sought out neighborhoods in Santa Cruz! My cozy family-friendly newly updated & remodeled 1868 Painted Lady purple Victorian home is a 2 MINUTE WALK to the BEACH, BOARDWALK OR DOWNTOWN, with restaurants, bars, & cafes. View the beautiful Pacific Ocean as you step outside, and enjoy the soothing ocean breeze. This is your perfect destination to escape and relax, in paradise. The space 1. There are 15 steps upstairs to the upstairs portion of the house. It is not necessary to use these as there are two bedrooms and full bathroom downstairs. 2. There are three bedrooms upstairs, two downstairs. We allow additional guests than the number of beds because kids don't always mind sleeping on the couch or floor in the living room. 3. There is a full kitchen downstairs with a dishwasher. Upstairs has a small kitchen with oven. We have basic cooking essentials, brita water filter, coffee and tea, Cuisine Art coffee maker, air fryer 4. The city of Santa Cruz has very strict rules on recycling. On the blue bin, which is only for recyclable items, there is a very clear explanation of what is allowed in it. If the bin gets contaminated with food waste, we get fined. Pizza boxes MUST go into the trash bin, and not the recycling bin. Please do not bag the recyclables. The city will not pick them up if they are bagged. 5. This house is in a residential neighborhood. There are families with young children and students as our neighbors. You are welcome to have a gathering of the guests included when you make the reservation, but loud parties, amplified music are not acceptable. If we get complaints from the neighbors, you are putting our ability to be hosts into risk, and we will have to ask you to leave the premises. 6. I am currently allowing well trained dogs, but unfortunately not cats. You must alert me if you are bringing your pup on the trip! 7. The comfy backyard with lawn furniture is also available for your use. Propane BBQ available. Please let me know if you intend to use it so that I can make sure the tank is full. 8. No candles please! 9. You are on vacation. I do NOT expect you to do the laundry, make the beds, or do any other major cleaning. We pay our housekeeping team a living wage so they can take care of that for you! 10. Sometimes prior guests fill the trash and recycling bins, and the city only comes once a week for pick up. If you need the bins to be emptied let me know and I will arrange for that during your stay. 11. Check in time is 4 PM. My housekeeper gets flustered with requests for early check in. If it is possible, I will surely do my best but please understand that it generally takes the five hour window between guests to get the house clean for my standards. Guest access We have a driveway which can fit three cars+ comfortably! Additional parking explanation will be given in check in instructions. We have a pack and play available. There is a keypad lock. We will provide you the code on the day of arrival. We will not know the code until right at check in and will send it to you via the Airbnb message board. It gives my housekeeper anxiety if guests demand the code before the cleaning is completed. Please trust that I will send the code at the 4:00 check in time as promised. There is a door at the top of the stairway that can be locked if toddlers are a concern. There is a separate laundry room in the backyard which is available for your use. The handle is a little tricky to open. Other things to note ********************** Check in is at 4PM ********************** Check out is at 11AM ********************** I strive to prepare the house as quickly as possible so that you may enjoy as much time as possible in our home. If I do happen to finish preparation before 4 PM, I will contact you through the message board. I will send you the code as soon as the house is ready. The house is equipped with basic spices, oils, salt/pepper, etc. in the kitchen. We have lots of extra towels, blankets and pillows. Please be respectful and courteous of our home. We ask of our guests to treat our space as if it were your own, please be mindful of the hardwood floors, our belongings and art, and please just respect the space. We also please ask to be respectful of our neighbors and to keep noise to a minimum after 10PM, as the city of Santa Cruz has a noise ordinance after that time.
