The space Kick off your shoes, let down your hair, and get comfortable among the birds, bees, and woods--and all within minutes of downtown Charleston, two universities, and four hospitals. Enjoy a library of classic books and local art that bring a smile. Beds are comfy, kitchen is well equipped with gadgets and basics--oil, salt/pepper, common spices, coffee,tea, sugar, honey. All hardwood floors reduce allergens. There's a shower AND a tub--yay! Dine inside or outside on a deck. It's a c. 1900 house--relatively narrow doorways and halls, and a step up to get into the bathroom. Situated on a hillside, thus stairs to climb to reach entrances. It is not wheelchair-accessible. Guest access Guests have access to all of the residential area of Katherine's House--four decks and a porch, three bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, and living room. One deck is free of furnishings, making it great for a yoga mat or an easel. Other things to note Heads up, all ye who are not accustomed to winding mountain roads: Katherine's House is less than three mostly vertical miles from downtown Charleston with all its restaurants, hospitals, colleges, and shopping. Those vertical miles mean you will be driving on narrow, winding roads. Stay on your side of the road and you'll be fine! Prepare for a winding, twisting ride up a hill, then a final swoop down the backside of the hill you just climbed. 100% survival rate so far.
