Enjoy this charming 1950's farmhouse, situated on 150 acres of countryside. Within an easy drive of Carlton, McMinnville, and Dundee—it's an ideal location for the exploring the area's many offerings. The house is well-appointed and surrounded by abundant gardens, towering cedar and fir trees—plus, a flock of chickens, three heritage sheep, and our Bengal cats add interest to the place. We live on the property (next door) with ample privacy/gardens between our place and the farmhouse. The space The farmhouse offers guests the entire main floor... ~The living room has ample seating, a picture window, record player (and records!) games, and good books. ~The dining room has a spacious table, four chairs, a piano, and a picture window. ~The kitchen with full-sized stove, refrigerator, and fully stocked with dishes, cooking pans, and utensils. We provide complimentary coffee, half & half, sugar, tea, and a few eggs from our flock, salt, pepper & olive oil. ~Two bedrooms–each with a queen beds. ~One full bathroom with shower and tub combo. ~A piano, real plants, flowers, and art, create a lovely space. ~Enjoy the covered front porch and two private side garden areas with outdoor seating. ~Parking area for two cars. ~Electric baseboard heaters throughout the house and the wood stove is available for added coziness. (Please pick up a bundle of wood or Duraflame logs). For summertime, there is a freestanding AC unit, that does a reasonable job of keeping the house cool and there are fans in each of the bedrooms. ~Cell service is good ~Satelite Wifi installed (through Viasat) in September of '22 although it’s wobbly, at best. Accessing the internet through your data plan is the safest best. Guest access The second story and basement levels of the farmhouse are used for storage and are kept locked. We live in the neighboring house on the property and share a driveway. We are happy to give you a quick tour of the property to show which areas to watch out for electric fences and to meet/feed the sheep and chickens. There are nearby woods and a winery that can be reached with a good walk. Other things to note While you're in the country...we encourage guests to enjoy the pastimes of yore; woodland walks, reading, human-to-human conversation, listening to music, playing games, coloring. At this time, the house is TV-free; the 'entertainment center' is stocked with engaging board/card games, a vintage record player and records, art coloring books and colored pencils, a selection of books and lovely gardens to enjoy. The WiFi ‘sometimes’ works, so be prepared to use your data plan/hotspot for internet use. This is an agricultural area and there are occasionally tractors at work, tending to the harvest. We do have one rooster who helps to protect our flock of hens and his morning crow will offer a 'real' taste of country life ;-)
