Ideally located you can still enjoy the mountain views, aspens and cottonwood trees, silence, and bright stars. There are plenty of scenic hikes around, mountain bike roads, cross country spots, fishing & driving distance to natural hot springs. The space Event packages include 40 acres of pristine land with a backdrop of Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Our open barn is 1600 sq ft and we also feature a 500 sq foot dining area in the old San Cristobal Trading Post. Both are perfect for dancing, the reception, cocktail party or a wedding dinner, depending on the size of the event or wedding party. The lodge and barn is also a perfect space for workshops, small conferences, retreats and multi-family events. All cabins have their own fully equipped kitchens. If you prefer not to cook Taos is full of gourmet restaurants and we are more than happy to assist you in finding or recommending a caterer if you prefer. aos Goji Eco-Lodge and Farm Retreat is located at Taos Goji Ecolodge, an historic property with ten renovated cabins and a 4-acre goji berry farm located on 40 acres in San Cristobal, NM. Some of the cabins were built at the beginning of last century, originally for sheep herders. Aldous Huxley lived and wrote in one of the cabins and also built our outhouse that is still intact. We found water colors by D.H. Lawrence and letters between Frieda and the publishers were in the trading post attic. LaterElizabeth Kubler Ross and Ram Dass stayed here. Taos Goji and its surroundings are rich with history and beauty. We are located in San Cristobal, a small village of about 200 families surrounded by national forest and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It is a great place for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. We raise organic goji berries and chickens on the farm. We also have some rescue animals, goats and alpacas. Fresh veggies and eggs are available seasonally, usually in exchange for a little weeding or a good word. The land has creeks, ponds, aspens and cottonwood trees, flower gardens, stone paths, goji, raspberry, and apple trees. Everywhere there are great views of the mountains. Our place is also a bird sanctuary and a couple of dedicated bird watchers counted over 100 different species recently! Our historic cabins offer a great country retreat for writers and artists, couples who seek a romantic getaway, weddings and elopes and families who would like to experience life on the farm. It is also a wonderful place for solo retreat. Expect to get away from the modern life. Some folks may be dismayed by the lack of city lights and the pervading silence at night. Our internet connection gets spotty during rain storms and snow. Depending on your cell phone provider you may have to walk or drive to the post office or up the road to get reception. We invite you to sink into these moments, listen to the wind rustling through the glossy leaves of the cottonwoods. Never fear for boredom at night - the stars outnumber your imagination. We're not a hotel. These are clean, rustic country cabins, a perfect place for creative individuals who desire a break from the bustle of civilization or to bring your children to appreciate country living. This is a place to get away from the TV and computer games. Don't panic, Taos is only 15 minutes away. Links to cabins: The lodge can sleep up to 26 people (included in event price).
