A family-friendly house in Shokan with four common areas (living room, sitting room, sun room, movie/game room) and outdoor space to ensure everyone has a relaxing time. Whether you're working from home, planning ski/hiking trips (2-min drive to Ashokan Rail Trail), heading into Woodstock (15 min), or just hanging out by the fire and playing board games, there's no shortage of options for everyone. The space This is our home away from home and we hope you can feel our love for the space. Newly-renovated with a few upgrades during the pandemic, the house has a fully-equipped kitchen, spacious dining room with adjoining sitting room, living room with fireplace, and a basement recreation and media room (including 10ft movie screen & projector). The large deck is perfect to enjoy the outdoor space and the sunroom is a great space for yoga or meditation. Upstairs are three bedrooms, with one king and two queen beds, and a full bathroom (second bathroom downstairs). The kitchen has plenty of counter space and is fully-stocked for cooking and baking (which we do a lot!). Come enjoy our home! Guest access Feel free to enjoy our home as if it were your own! All we ask is that you also respect as if it were your own. Other things to note This is our vacation home, not a hotel, so please have appropriate expectations. Some areas may be a little 'lived in' — largely thanks to our toddler — and we do get some bugs out in the woods. Always bring warm clothes. We are definitely in the mountains, the weather can and does change rapidly and can often be quite cool in the evenings regardless of the time of year. Enjoy and photograph the local wildlife but please do not feed them. Please do not leave trash or food outdoors as it may attract wildlife.
