Opening the large wooden gates stepping into the tropical garden of the Rice House feels like entering the premises of a converted colonial planters house, perfectly located in front of expansive rice paddy fields. This characterful house comes with high wooden ceilings & king trusses, terra cotta tiles on the floor, antique doors and windows & carefully hand picked antiques & collectibles. The chef leads a wonderful team to look after you. The space Sleeping up to 10 adults in 5 bedroom suites this beautiful villa enjoys stunning and panoramic views out over the rice fields. Bird life is abundant. 4 of the bedroom suites are in the main house whilst a 5th is set slightly apart and accessed from the garden. In the house are two king suites, 1 queen and 1 twin. Each bedroom also has a day bed that can be made up in to a single bed suitable for a child. The suite accessed from the garden is located in The Pink House & contains a king bed & a bunk with 2 beds. There are two verandas. Between these is the living room where you can just relax or watch tv or let the kids play with the x-box while lying on a few beanbags. In the garden you will find an infinity pool alongside the rice paddy field surrounded by lush greenery and gently swaying palm trees. The pool deck with sun beds overlooks the rice paddy fields where the different green tones of the planted rice changes colour constantly. The chef leads a team of house staff for whom nothing is too much. Guest access The entire house & gardens are available for your private use. Other things to note Transport to & from the beach either by tuk tuk or air conditioned vehicle is easy to arrange. Eden Villas can advise on yoga teachers & massage therapists who will come to the villa. All meals are extra & arranged very simply by discussing with our chef what you like to eat. There is a menu to help with this discussion. You will never tire of relaxing by the pool watching the amazing bird life as well as farmers toiling away in the rice fields. Galle Fort with shops, restaurants & nearby bars is a few minutes by tuk tuk. The nearest surf break is 5km from the house.
