*All mandatory fees are included in the Airbnb price. A stay in Kiahuna Condo 96 includes a full membership to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club, and to the Beach Hut. Partial Ocean View. Perfect for families and honeymooners. Top floor condo with vaulted ceilings, kitchen, balcony, king bed, and queen hide-a-bed. The space To get to the beach, just walk 5 minutes across the lawn, barefoot if you like, and through the beautiful manicured gardens and you are there. The surf shack at the beach includes chairs for free, and rents surf boards and snorkel gear. Kiahuna Beach is good for both surfing and swimming. Condo #96 is constructed in the classic tropical style with full size shutters throughout so that you can enjoy the fragrant tropical breeze. This condo sleeps 4 adults in two beds. One king size bed in the bedroom, and one queen size hide-a-bed sofa in the family room. There is room for an additional 5th person, if you use the twin size airbed available in the closet. Housekeeping does not supply sheets for the airbed so you will need to bring your own sheets and blankets. Cribs and extra beds are also available for rent. We are family friendly. :) A video of the condo can be found on youtube by searching for id "PXDjYMLTtnQ". A video of a view from the balcony can be found at this id "apS0EXOGdcI". Being located on the top floor at the end of the terrace means that there is good privacy, because no one walks by the front door. However, we are not actually the end unit. There is a two level end unit next to us that has its entry on the lower floor. Being on the top also means that this condo has vaulted ceilings and combined with the open air balcony makes this property very spacious. There is no elevator, so climbing stairs is required. The condo is not wheelchair accessible. There is no air conditioning and it is generally not needed because of the mild climate and the open air construction of the building. In fact, even with all the shutters closed running AC in these units is highly inefficient, so not environmentally friendly. On the hottest nights in summer you will want to run the fans at night and in the coolest nights in winter you will need to use the blankets. This is one of those places where you want to live al fresco. Hawaii has legendarily comfortable weather and it is not hot like the Caribbean or Mexico. Check the internet for average highs and lows for reference. Guest access A stay here includes a full membership to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club, located a 10 minute walk across Poipu drive. The Club includes tennis, pickle ball, ping pong, a pool with waterslide, jacuzzi, a complete weight training facility, fitness classes, and a full service restaurant with live entertainment. Kiahuna Golf Club is within easy walking distance (not included) and two other golf courses are very close. A small grocery store and restaurants are located within walking distance, so a car is not essential to enjoy the immediate surroundings. If you want to go see the sites and explore the entire island then a rental car is recommended. Taxi coverage on the island is fairly good while Uber and Lyft coverage are very lacking. I know of a reliable friendly taxi driver, so I can text you her number upon request. Public bus transit on Kauai is present and very affordable but is slow and requires lots of transfers. See more bus information below. Kaui is a hikers paradise, with almost perfect weather all year round. There are many trails to go visit and most do not require a permit. The Napali coast is the exception. A guidebook of things to do and places to eat in the area can be found by copying the following link into the address bar of your browser and replacing the "*" with "com" before pushing the enter key. Airbnb has a bug where guidebooks are not shown in the listing so this is the fix. https://www.airbnb.*/s/guidebooks?refinement_paths[]=/guidebooks/3626094 Pets are not allowed at the Kiahuna resort area or in guest rooms, with the exception of service animals for the blind. Noncompliance with this policy can result in a penalty fee and dismissal from the property. Other things to note In addition to the 32" cable/smart TV, a 22" smart TV is available in the condo which will allow you to stream your favorite service through the wifi. Feel free to use the small TV anywhere in the house, but return to the bedroom closet when you are done. Keep in mind to clear your account before leaving. Additional Optional Cleaning For Long stays: Additional cleaning during your stay can be purchased onsite from the office. 2023 rates are as follows. Mid-Stay Refreshment (Contactless) $59.00 Full-Service Cleaning $105.00 Towel Change $15.00 Towels, Trash, Bed $40.00 Free beach towels are available at the beach hut with your towel card. For stays over 4 days, supplies like toilette paper will only be refreshed when maid service is done so it might be necessary to buy some extra in town if you aren't planning to pay for extra maid service. If you want to get the most for your money we recommend Costco and Walmart in Lihue. There is a coin operated laundromat on the property. You can also visit our gardening site by searching up "Phoenix Tropicals Gardening" to find us directly, and to read up on tropical gardening in the desert. We live in Mesa Arizona and come to Kauai for vacation too. Please use the condo gently because it is our home away from home. Directions to take the bus from the airport to Condo 96.
