We're on 'Select Cornwall' at a lower rate. This is a detached cottage, one of 4, grouped around a quiet courtyard, formerly the old stone, farm barns. They have been converted into luxury, beamed cottages, truly unique. We are in a secluded, quiet location, down a long farm drive, surrounded by our 54 acres of farmland, with horses grazing in the fields. We have abundant wildlife and lovely picnic areas by our stream, which meanders down to Porth Beach, eventually. We are on the edge of the coastal belt, only 1 mile as the sea gull flies, 2 miles from Porth Beach (a five minute drive) and another mile from there into Newquay. Watergate Bay is about an 8 minute drive, a fabulous surfing beach, with The Beach Hut café and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant. We regret we do not take pets and are non smoking indoors. If there is a light smoker only , please smoke outside on the patio. It is advisable to have use of a car if holidaying here. Barn Owl Cottage is the largest one of the four. It has a porch, with antique coat rack and hall table, plenty of space for outdoor shoes and boots! French door leads into the beautiful, large dining room. This has double aspect windows, including French doors to the front of the property. Fabulous 19th Century Refectory Table, settle and chairs, comfortably seating 8 people. Lovely old Chiffonier Dresser. Through to kitchen, well equipped for 6 with a range cooker electric oven gas hob, American fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. There is a door leading out to garden, barbecue, table/benches and chairs. Lovely views over the valley. Door from kitchen leads to fully equipped Shower Room and a further bathroom, which has bath, toilet and wash hand basin. A very pretty room, with dual aspect windows over the gardens. Leading off the dining room is Bedroom 1, which has an antique double brass bed stead, wardrobe and chest of drawers. TV. Next door to this is bedroom 2, A spacious single bedded room, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Open stairs from the dining room lead up to a lovely, spacious lounge with high, vaulted ceiling with original old beams. Quiet corner with writing desk. French door with outside steps leading down to the garden. Door leads off to Bedroom 3, with double sleigh bed memory foam mattress, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Another door off the lounge leads to Bedroom 4, which has a single bed, wardrobe and dressing table. A cot will fit in either single room with the single bed is being used. if you need one we are happy to put one in! Guest access The cottage is in a court yard with access to unload your car on arrival but has a separate car park adjacent to avoid night time car noise. Our week long holidays are from Friday to Friday this is to avoid weekend traffic problems and short breaks are between Fridays, Our cleaners are organised for a Friday changeover July and August are weeks only Friday to Friday. There is a coin meter for your normal electricity set at a low rate £2-£4 a day.
