@Mt.HoodChalet is a beautifully restored cabin just off Hwy26 w/ few neighbors, w/in 30min of Timberline & less than 15min to Skibowl. Convenient location close to all the good eats, bars, trails, & near both rivers. 1300’ elevation. 10,019SF lot offers a nice space yard & lots of parking. SEMI-private w/ old pines makes a perfect retreat! Guests love the coziness & appreciate the homeyness, nestled in the trees! Bring your own body soaps. Comfy beds! No AC. The space “Just simply a great place to come back to after spending time in the great pnw woods.” Our sweet little Mt Hood Chalet at the base of Mt Hood - offers guests a cozy feel like being in the woods with just a few neighbors down a private road, and offers the comforts of being walking distance to some of the mountains best restaurants, groceries, and bars. If you’re into swimming or fishing, we are near a lot of the surrounding river access areas to the Salmon & Sandy Rivers. We are not far from great scenic areas and of course hikes! The cabin is not secluded but feels quite private. If you’re looking for extreme seclusion, this isn’t the spot for you. Our two story cabin Mt Hood Chalet is tucked down a quiet neighborhood road, with long term neighbors… it has two bedrooms- one master bedroom on the lower level with a queen bed and 2 full beds upstairs to sit back and relax on during a great movie. All beds are on memory foam mattresses (medium firm) and have down-feather pillows. Upstairs has a portable Air conditioning unit to help cool you off during summer *nights*, though we are in a classic Chalet and as such, do not have a central system! (If you prefer a cooler temperature comfort level during late spring or summer months, this may not be the cabin for you.) We supply guests with extra pillows and blankets; extra box fans; and extra towels In the linen closet. Each bed upstairs has 4 pillows and a throw blanket. We have vaulted cedar ceilings that really bring out the cozy-cabiny feel. There is a single bathroom with a standing - shower completely remodeled with tile surround. Inside also has a propane fireplace that warms the space right up, it’s perfect to cozy up to. There are board games in the living room downstairs and a tv upstairs - streaming ready. We have included a desk in the space downstairs for those working from home. There are also curtains up for privacy. The full size kitchen is has a 7.5 c.f. refrigerator for storing your perishables and an electric stove has a regular sized oven. The kitchen includes a toaster, Keurig with pods, an air fryer, a blender, a waffle maker, some baking sheets, basic cooking pots/pans, cooking utensils, measuring cups, bottle opener, and silverware along with plates and bowls, and wine glasses. Our faucet water is safe to drink as it comes from a well. There’s a Brita filter in the friddge. We do not provide any other kitchen appliances or cookware. There is no laundry available at this home. There is no dishwasher at this home. There is not tub at this home for baths. Outside you’ll find a fire pit area, lounging chairs on a large deck, and plenty of space for parking. We are in a heavily wooded area, critters and bugs are common. Note- host does not provide firewood; pre cut bundles of firewood are available to purchase from Thriftway just up the road. We do not provide any lighter fluid, axes, and/or fire pit supplies. •Outdoor furniture, tables, games, s’more sticks, and bbq grill supplies are only available during spring and summer months. The large deck does have a couple Adirondack lounging chairs out year round and the fire pit has chairs as well year round. •Elevation is just over 1,300 feet, INCLEMENT WEATHER WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR REFUNDS- on the mountain, snow, ice, sunny or hot days, or high winds are to be expected unexpectedly at all times. For all those snow activities, the mountain is within 30 minutes. Our *neighborhood* is quiet and friendly. We have neighbors directly behind us and one to the side that you will notice. We observe quiet hours between 10 pm and 7 am. Our street is not paved, it is very bumpy; 4wheel drive during winter months recommended! We do not shovel our driveway and our street is not usually cleared with snow plows- during winter months, consider your driving capabilities and/or secure travelers insurance. •Our WiFi is the best option available up on the mountain- keep in mind this is on a MOUNTAIN, though pretty good- internet service may be disrupted. WiFi is often times spotty! Great spot to work remotely! It’s peaceful and quiet! Lots of guests have had zero problems with connect-ability. We do not provide any refunds or credits or reimbursements should the Internet stop working during guests stay. •We do have a motion light that clicks on at the front exterior that stays on to help ward off any unwanted creatures. We do have big game animals that frequent our area. There is all kinds of wild life out here. We test smoke detectors, thoroughly sanitize, and completely clean all surfaces between each guests. We do not turn the sensor light off during guests stay- this is for your safety. •The upper balcony screen door is locked and closed off to guests. The locked utility room is closed off to guests. And the locked storage/garage shop is closed off to guests. The property has 4 exterior security cameras in non-conspicuous places- please see “camera descriptions” for more security camera info. There is one security camera inside the locked utility room where guests do not have access. •since COVID19 , our cleaning protocols have been increased to include Clorox and Lysol wipes on all surfaces, an all natural vinegar / fabric softener spray, and the use anti bacterial soaps. Our cleaning strategies are already very rigorous, but we want to stress that we are doing what we can to ensure guests safety and that may include the use of stronger disinfectant cleaners/chemicals. An ozone and air purifier machine is always run between guests, but leaves no smell. Lastly, household cleaners and supplies are available for guests use.*** •pets are $150/pet. Maximum 2 dogs. • This cabin does not have screens on the windows. So on hotter days you can have windows open, but there are no screens. We do have fans throughout the cabin. •We stand by our cancellation policy- if you’re not confident in your ability to keep your reservation, please obtain ***travelers insurance.*** thank you Guest access Everywhere inside except locked utility room, which is locked and marked. Upper balcony is not accessible. Detached garage/shop is closed to guests. Other things to note We are self managed. Our cancellation policy is strictly enforced- we encourage you to obtain CFAR travel insurance for added peace of mind. This is NOT a secluded Cabin and we do NOT have AC. We DO have a check out check-list we ask you help with: that list includes the following- Please take out trash, strip beds, put back furniture you’ve moved, and clean dishes. Thank you. 5 guests max, including children. We do not allow parties. We do not accommodate early ins or late check outs. Any guests who stay past their check out time, will be charged a days rate. Also note- our road is not paved off the highway. Gravel road. It’s Bumpy! All wheel drive is recommended during fall/winter months. Do not tamper with cameras or hub. We will immediately be notified if cameras are disabled and for the safety of our cabin, you will then be removed from the property, reported to AirBnb, and NOT offered a refund. Exterior cameras are on each corner and point down the driveway, towards the shop, at the back side of the home and shed, and along the side where the chimney is (outside). One camera inside the locked utility room, guests should never see this camera and this room restricts guests access. Kitchen does not have spices provided. We often has guest leave some spices behind we leave out to share. You will need to bring your own shampoos, conditioners, and body soaps. Toilet paper provided in limited supply. ;) No smoking allowed on property, absolutely no smoking of any kind inside (including but not limited to vaping, hookahs, cigarettes, e cigs, etc.). You must verify with Clackamas County allowable burn times if you’d like to burn in the fire pit outside. We do not provide fire wood. And guests are NOT allowed to pull shrubbery / sticks / wood from around the landscape to burn. Wood bundles can be purchased for about $5 at Thriftway, just up the road. Quiet time is observed between 10 pm and 7 am. We do have some neighbors. If you are not comfortable with neighbors -or are not familiar with “a mountain town neighborhood,” this home probably isn’t for you. This is not located in a resort area. Though we say kids are welcome, young children are not recommended. We have lots of corners, sharp edges, and stairs. We do have a crib and high chair available. If you are sensitive to smells, cleaners, or have allergies, this home getaway is probably not a good fit for you. Wild animals often spotted in the area- cougars, coyotes, deer, and bears. In the colder months we treat for rodents and you may notice mouse traps behind appliances or rodent deterrent plug-ins. Mice and critters are common in this area.
