Unwind at our log house amid pines above 75-acre lake reached via log stairs. Private 200-ft lakeshore beach, raft, boats. 4 BR's sleep 6. Sunroom, living rm, deck, wash-dryer, gas grill, fireplaces. Hammock, badminton, pingpong, board games, puzzles, toys, 40" TV. Reliable/fast WiFi (broadband). 9 mi from Northway. 4-mi bike ride to athletic fields & country store. No pets. Alas, exposed balcony makes house unsuitable for toddlers. 3 BR's have curtains not doors. Must rent in 7-day blocks. The space The cabin is lovely and comfortable, the grounds are shady and spacious. What makes it a jewel is Beaver Pond -- the cool, sparkling lake directly below the house. Our private lakeshore has sun, breeze and shade and our huge (100 sq ft) raft is an easy swim offshore. Little kids revel in swimming to it, bigger kids love jumping from it, and everyone gets to while away hours lying on it, hearing the wind and watching the blue sky. Fast motors are banned by custom, and the swimming is safe and limitless. Quite secluded near the dead-end of our dirt road. We hope our photos evoke some of this. We first rented the house in 2001, then bought it in 2004 from the family who built it. (Now they rent from us for one week, most summers!) Combined, our house and Beaver Pond are a rare gem. As noted, you must rent in 7-day blocks (e.g., 7 days, 14, 21 ...) to ensure every rental includes a weekend. Sat-Sat preferred. One last note: This is "our cabin," not a rental property per se. It's got our books, our photos, even some of our clothes in the armoire and some dressers, though we've left space for yours. Point being: the cabin has a lived-in feeling b/c we do live here much of May into September. We hope you'll view this "as a feature, not a bug" that lets you and us share this wonderful place.
