The FLOWERS ROOM is a cheery space overlooking Hart Lake below. It has a comfy queen memory foam bed, dresser, desk, closet, and side table and chair. There are window blinds for privacy. FLOWERS shares a bathroom with WOODLANDS, if occupied. The Suite's 2nd bathroom is exclusive to our luxury WORLD ROOM. All Suite guests share the common areas: kitchen, dining, lounge, laundry, patio, fire pit, hot tub; plus loads of board games, books, and DVDs. See below for more details. The space GENERAL INFORMATION Six Crows B&B and Retreat House is a communal resort of sorts, consisting of a shared 3-bedroom Housekeeping Suite overlooking Hart Lake, and a luxury lakeside campsite. Guest areas are separate from our personal space. We live on our home's upper level, whose main entrance faces the road. The Housekeeping Suite is on the lower level with its main entrance facing the lake. Each bedroom in our B&B Suite is set up for 2 guests. If you have a 3rd party and don't mind the squeeze, we can add a single sized cot with blowup mattress for a modest additional charge. There is no additional charge for an infant under 2 years sleeping with parents. All the bedrooms have locks on their doors. The Flowers room key is on the desk. Please don't forget to leave it when you check out. Flowers is at the far west end of our B&B Suite. Our most cheerful room, Flowers has a comfy queen sized bed, a dresser, closet, desk, side chair, and an armchair with side table. Each private bedroom in the Suite has a character, so naturally, each has a name. FLOWERS, WOODLANDS, and WORLD ROOMS share the common areas, including a fully equipped kitchen, TV viewing lounge, and dining areas. Suite guests also share the lower house patio and the adjacent fire pit. GLAMP guests have their own patio and fire pit. Everyone including Glamp guests share: - the hot tub (first come first serve), - the loungers on the mid-level terrace, - the yard games stored on the mid-level terrace -- return them there, - the water crafts on the west side of the lakefront, and - the kids' play area. We respect our guests' privacy, and never enter your private bedroom during your stay. Depending when you are "home", you may occasionally find Linda or rarely Dave in the Suite, generally for cleaning and refreshing or maintenance purposes as guests come and go. BATHROOMS The bathroom assigned to Flowers is down the hall. It is shared with guests staying in Woodlands if occupied. We lovingly call it The Cats Bath for obvious reasons if you check out the photos. It features a large 4-foot wide shower. There are drawers for storage of guests' toiletries if you like. There are plenty of towels and hooks for their hanging. A towel hamper is provided in the hall. We ask that you reuse towels as you would at home. Your bathroom and shower are equipped with liquid and bar soap, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. A continuous flow, low level ventilation fan operates silently for enhanced air quality. It may also be cranked up for steamy times. The Suite's 2nd bathroom is exclusive and en suite to The World Room, our most luxurious offering. LAUNDRY If you are traveling for any length of time, you will appreciate access to laundry facilities between destinations. Our laundry closet off the hallway houses a stacked washer/dryer combo for use by guests. Guests are asked NOT to launder our bath and bed linens. Please put your soiled bath linens in the hamper in the hallway. Leave the bedding on your bed, unmade and intact. Avoid balling up the top coverings please. Guests often want to help but we prefer you leave them. KITCHEN/BREAKFAST We're so sorry, our celebrated chefs, Leopol and Benoit, happen to be off duty during the exact time when you will be visiting, but they have left you all the fixings for a hearty self-serve breakfast on your own schedule. They have provided a nice assortment of options - cereals, pancake mix, oats, eggs, milk, orange juice, fresh fruit, coffee/tea. Their little galley kitchen features a full sized refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, and the usual dishes, pots an pans, and cooking utensils. There is also a large grill on the patio. Our water is treated so we also provide a filtered water dispenser. Feel free to bring fixings for any other meals you wish to cook, grill, etc. You will find a good variety of seasonings and condiments on hand. Also, our chefs have left their recipe books. :D In our experience, most guests are not interested in cooking much while traveling, other than a quick breakfast, so the kitchen is not usually too busy. It's a galley kitchen, but guests generally have no problem working around each other. Please do your part to keep things cleaned up. Guests may jointly fill and run the dishwasher. DO NOT leave unwashed dishes in the dishwasher. We recycle and compost, and ask guests to use the marked receptacles for this purpose. There are also a family-size trash can and a full sized blue bin for recycling on the patio, which may be used by guests. We collect trash and compost and refresh the Suite daily as needed. There are a fire extinguisher and cleaning tools and supplies in the kitchen broom closet. LOUNGE/DINING/ENTERTAINMENT The breakfast counter, situated on the lounge side facing toward the kitchen, seats 4. The dining table also seats 4. There are a sofa and rocker/recliner in the lounge. The lounge features a 54" Smart TV with basic cable, and a DVD player with upwards of 250 videos. For rainy days or just for fun, we provide a closet full of board games, and hundreds of books to tantalize every kind of reader. These are extra privileges we are thrilled to provide for our guests. We expect you will return things to where you found them, in good condition and order. WI-FI We provide high speed WI-Fi Internet service. Network and password information are provided when you arrive. PATIO The partly covered patio provides a spectacular view of Hart Lake below. A perfect place to spread out or just enjoy the outdoors. The covered side adjacent the fire pit features cushy lounge furniture. Please respect the cushions and avoid putting dirty shoes up on them. ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS on this furniture. The 10-foot long picnic table, grill, and trash/recycling bins are on the side of the patio nearest the entry doors to the Suite. Unfortunately, the table will get dripped on when it rains, due to the deck above. FIRE PIT The fire pit, located at the west end of the patio, is shared by all Suite guests. We provide complimentary firewood and starter materials for campfires during your stay. Please keep campfires a reasonable size and treat them with respect. There is a hose nearby should quick dousing be needed. Otherwise just let your fire die out so it is ready for the next use. For seating around the fire, there are 4 chairs with cushions stacked on the patio. If more than four are needed, there is a bench/bin of camp chairs in the fire pit area. Please put away all chairs you take out by the end of your stay, or if rain is threatening. Thank you. HOT TUB The Hot Tub is available to all guests 24/7, first come first serve. Please keep the noise level down during late night use. The hot tub deck also features a table and chairs, which all guests are welcome to use as a private nook anytime the hot tub is not in use by other guests. YOUR DOG: IF YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR DOG, PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY Few local B&Bs or summer rentals allow dogs. We love them and recognize they are part of our guests' families. At the same time, Six Crows House is a communal resort, and we have to consider everyone's safety and comfort. We expect anyone bringing their dog to be a responsible dog owner, and to follow our visiting dog guidelines. You will find a helpful reminder copy in your room. NB: We are not equipped to accommodate multiple dogs. YOU MUST ASK BEFORE BOOKING if you want to bring more than 1 dog. The answer will depend on other guests or dogs booked, and the dogs themselves. When you book, please provide: • Your dog’s name, age, breed, and temperament. • Your dog must be clean and 100% house broken. • Your dog must be up to date with shots and free of fleas/ticks/disease. • Your dog must be well-behaved/obedient - rude dogs are not welcome! During your stay: • Make dog introductions if there are other guests visiting with a dog. • Most of the Suite is carpeted and not suitable for feeding dogs. Dog food and water dishes should be set up on the patio. Do not put them in the kitchen as they would be underfoot there. We discuss off-season alternatives with guests as applicable. • Your dog must be leashed when out, and in your control when inside. ABSOLUTELY NO free ranging on the property or in the neighborhood • Please walk your dog; peeing just off the patio leaves unsightly dead spots in the grass. • IMMEDIATELY pick up and dispose of doggy doo in the trash bin on the patio. No one wants to step in it. • ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ON ANY FURNITURE inside or outside, including your bed. Please DO NOT bring a dog that expects to sleep with you. Bring a crate or doggy bed as applicable. We have a large doggy bed available for loan if needed. • Please respect our carpeting, and thoroughly clean Doggy's paws BEFORE entering as needed. We provide Doggy towels in a basket near the door. COVID-19 We continue to disinfect as part of our cleaning routine. We are also still providing hand sanitizer and masks for guests who want them. Currently, we are no longer wearing masks, and do not expect guests to wear them. OTHER MATTERS Everyone's timetable is unique, so expect guests to be coming and going. Please be considerate of your Suite-mates, for example as pertains to loud music or TV. Unless all guests who are "home" are enjoying each other (i.e. around a campfire), things should quiet down by 10 pm. Absolutely NO SMOKING of any kind inside the Suite. Smoking of anything legal is permitted outside. Please be respectful of other nearby guests. We ask that you use the ashtrays that are provided, empty their contents into the trash when done (make sure everything is out), and clean and return them. Respect Mother Nature please, and if necessary, hold onto cigarette butts until you can access an ashtray or trashcan. We take safety very seriously, and have had our premises inspected by the local fire marshal. We have multiple smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors throughout The Suite, and there is a fire extinguisher in the kitchen broom cupboard. We have central air conditioning in summer, and forced air heat in winter. We have fans and space heaters available for added personal comfort. THE GLAMP In addition to our B&B Suite, our Lakeside GLAMP is open about May through October, based on weather conditions. The site features a 12x14-foot 1-room cabin, a tiny indoor camp kitchen, and outdoor shower and camp toilet facilities. Suite guests are limited to the boats, dock, an rafts, lakeside, but may spread out if the Glamp is not occupied, The cabin and facilities east of the cabin are part of The Glamp. GROUP OPTIONS Food for thought: Perhaps you have an occasion, a wedding, family reunion, tour group, spiritual retreat.... If you have a group who want the entire Suite (in any season), or the Suite plus The Glamp in season, send us an inquiry asking about a group deal. Remember, off season means discounts. In season we can accommodate as many as 14 guests between The Suite and The Glamp. Off season, we can sleep up to 10 guests in The Suite when we open up a 4th queen bedroom. - 6 guests in 3 queen rooms, - 2 guests in the king room, and - 2 more guests on cots in any 2 of the rooms - 4 guests in The Glamp - 14 Total Our other listings on Airbnb: - WORLD ROOM - FLOWERS ROOM - GLAMP During your stay We reach out when you book, and then go over check-in time and details with you a day or two before your visit. When you arrive, we greet you and show you around. Afterward, we are nearby or available by text or call, but will not intrude on your privacy. You may see Linda cleaning in the common area or refreshing a room, Dave occasionally with a maintenance matter. If you are arriving late, we will provide instructions and a well lighted way to the B&B Suite and your room, and show you around in the morning.
