Crab House is a small Lodge on Xcalak beach, (5 km from Belize) further south in Quintana Roo . The Lodge consists of 3 cabins facing the sea , each independent. A small independent house with two bedrooms, a dining room and full kitchen, a private dock, a Palapa and Terrace above the beach , dining tables, Barra de Bar ...everything in front of the sea .OJO .. it is washed by cabin / and number of people . It is not necessary to wash the entire Lodge . The space XCALAK IS A SPECTACULAR MARINE RESERVE (NATURAL PROTECTED AREA), VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE BEACHES OF CANCUN AND TOURIST AREAS OF RIVIERA MAYA , IT IS A RUSTIC , REMOTE AND NATURAL PLACE, WE DO NOT HAVE THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF A TOURIST DESTINATION. DERIVED FROM CLIMATE CHANGE AND CHANGES IN SEA CURRENTS OF RECENT YEARS, YOU ARE LIKELY TO LEAVE SARGASSUM ON THE BEACHES ( MAINLY FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER) IS A LONGTIME ISSUE BUT IS NOT BEING RESOLVED . RECOMMENDED CHCAR WELL IF IT IS THE DESTINATION SOUGHT , CLIMATE , SARGASSUM SITUATION, BEFORE MAKING YOUR RESERVATION THANK YOU VERY MUCH . Guest access You will have access to all Common Areas; we offer MEAL service ( prior contracted) . Full breakfasts, snacks and food/ dinners , fresh fish, lobster ,salads etc. As for the use of the KITCHEN on your own: IN HIGH SEASON IT IS not POSSIBLE TO USE the KITCHEN, it is for use of RESTAURANT service TO GUESTS. We offer all inclusive food service ( ask pf) LOW season ( if applicable ) and the KITCHEN USE Permit is given. Cooking service MUST be contracted. Use of the Pier , Palapa , terrace and kayaks is for EXCLUSIVE use and by all guests . It is likely that there may be other guests in other cabins on your stay. The use of beach towels is exclusively for use Inside the Lodge . IMPORTANT: Different RESERVATIONS do not SHARE A CABIN WITH OTHER RESERVATIONS. RESERVATIONS and COSTS are by number of guests and these will accommodate one or more cabins of 3 , 4 or 5 people, depending on the SIZE OF THE GROUP/ RESERVATION. CABIN IS NEVER SHARED WITH OTHER RESERVATIONS . If the reservation is for 2 , 3 or 4 people , they will be assigned A CABIN for the size of the Group , in case of requiring to DIVIDE the reservation into separate cabins it will be necessary to REQUEST IT BEFORE MAKING the RESERVATION , and FOR REASONS of OCCUPATION the COST MAY VARY and WILL ALSO BE SUBJECT to AVAILABILITY . Remember that the Normal Reservations are Per Person / Night. , not FOR A CABIN . Thank you so much Other things to note Xcalak is a remote and rustic place, the water used is rainfall collection and brought from a Cenote near the village so water saving is paramount, the water is alkaline but very clean . Doctor / Hospitals nearby are located 1.30 hrs in the city of Chetumal . Or 2.30 hrs in Tulum. Xcalak is the ideal place for the Outdoor Marino and Beach, the nightlife in the village is minimal .. few Restaurants / Bars . Ideal place for scuba diving and Fly Fishing, snorkeling and Kayaking.
