Bus stop is 5 minutes walking distance from the property, perfect solution for visiting the areas around: Amsterdam, Edam and Volendam are, for example, just behind the corner! (tourists tax is €3.10pp and needs to be paid separately) The space Our house is one of the oldest in the kerkbuurt on Marken. It has been completely renovated by its previous owners who did an amazing job maintaining its original spirit. Bathroom is shared with us, while toilette is not. The toilet upstairs is reserved for you. We only have one guest room so there won't be any other Airbnb guests in the house at the same moment as you. Kitchen is generally not in use for guests, but let us know (in advance) if you want to join for dinner - we like to cook with locally sourced and fresh ingredients and take our time for it. You can definitely ask us to store some food in our fridge or freezer and to use our dining areas (inside or in the garden). Let us know your preferences and let us taking care of a special evening, special meal or whatever you had in mind! If you prefer local cafés and restaurants, instead, there is a total of 4 at about 10 minutes distance. Please note: children less than 8 years old are unfortunately NOT welcome in our property, please respect our choice. During your stay We love socializing with people, that's why we decided to start the airbnb experience! Feel free to contact us whenever you need and if you want to spend an evening together we will find it super gezellig! Other things to note We kindly ask you to leave your shoes at the entrance to preserve our floors and our health. Matilda, our beloved dog, is a bit curious and probably will ask you to play with her ball. This is a traditional Airbnb solution: we live here and are really much open people, please let us know if you prefer to reduce interaction with us so that we won't intrude ourselves:) Also, please understand that we do this as a sort of hobby: we have other jobs. Because of this, if you intend to have a wild night in the city, please do NOT choose us as accomodations. In's and out's late at night are not welcomed. Advise us as soon as you know your expected arrival time so we can make sure to be at home for your arrival, when possible. Let us also know if you are coming by car rather than not as we have only one parking permit and if you don't let us know that you need it we might not have it available at your arrival. There's a quite steep stair to reach your bedroom, unfortunately, wheelchairs will not be able to go up.
