Everything in this inviting apartment was thought through to the smallest detail: 2 hand-carved thrones made of nogal (walnut) wood, a dining table which mirrors the typology of the contemporary models in the “chicherias” of Cusco and iconographies in the bedroom, taken of the facade of the San Lorenzo colonial church in Potosí, Bolivia, show all of this. The colonial architecture is symbolically illustrated by a gorgeous aijmez – a hand-carved corner balcony. This gives a particular aesthetic not only to the apartment but also to the whole building. As was usual in the colonial period, a wood-burning fireplace is another addition and a further attraction in this apartment. The play of colours on the walls creates an intimate atmosphere in which you quickly feel at home. The apartment is split over two levels, with the ground floor as the day area, including the kitchen, and a gorgeous mezzanine with the bedroom. Wood is the dominant building material in this apartment, as was common in the colonial period. The floors, pillars and stairs give rise to a beautiful wooden landscape. The model for the 1.70x2 metre bed, a cupboard and a chest of drawers made of carved wood originates from historical books, and they are intended to evoke a special atmosphere. The delicate bathroom, made of white pine and handmade bronze fittings, also rounds off the picture. To understand the quality of the place, we recommend looking at the photos ... here we can complete a few points: HEATING: it is a very important point because in Cusco the cold can be strong. The apartment has an efficient heating system that allows to have an ideal temperature. WATER: this is another very sensitive point in Cusco because the distribution of water in the city is intermittent: the property has a water storage system (and pressure control), so always has water in the apartment and with due pressure. A water-heater is responsible for heating the water, so both in the bathroom and in the kitchen there is hot water. WI-FI: available and included in the rate CLEANING: we deliver the apartment cleaned. If you stay more days and want to have an extra cleaning of the apartment, just ask and schedule the extra cleaning with the person in charge. Extra cleaning includes the change of sheets and towels (the service is available with an extra cost). KITCHEN: the kitchen is complete with everything: 4-burner stove for cooking, refrigerator, microwave oven, blender, coffee maker, toaster and a set of pots and utensils that allow you to cook whatever you want. BED: we took seriously in consideration the quality of the sleep. The mattress is a extra-large size (1.70 x 2.00 meters, bigger than a Queen size mattress) super-orthopaedic and the pillows are Memory Foam quality. AND... sheets and towels are part of the normal equipment of the apartment. Since the apartment has already a heating system working (included in the rate), the wood for the fireplace is charged as an extra service. It is possible to add 01 extra bed (not included in the rate). IMPORTANT: Our Colonial Duplex is located in a quiet pedestrian street that enjoys a special tranquility to our place. IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW that our building is not reachable by car and that is necessary to walk a flight of stairs before getting to the place.
