The space The location is remote and private yet accessible to main roads. The property has many rock outcroppings and beautiful Ponderosa pines overlooking a valley with a panoramic view of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Daily visitors include mule deer and a wonderful variety of Colorado bird life, most notorious of which is the large population of humming birds that migrate to the area each summer. The cabin has a well-supplied kitchen with a propane BBQ grill on the patio for summer cookouts. Reliable WiFi is available and the TV is set-up for streaming Netflix, Prime, HBO Max, etc. Guest access You have access to the house and 40 acres for hiking and exploring. The property sits toward the back of the acreage and the fence behind is the boundary. It follows to the front gate and continues south about halfway up the next hill. Please Note: Due to a Park County Fire Restrictions open fires including campfires are prohibited without a permit from the district fire station. Short-term vacation rentals are not eligible for these permits,. The Guffey area is sensitive to forest fires and so we kindly ask guests to refrain from using the open fire pit located across the driveway. Thank you for your understanding. Other things to note If you are renting during the winter months (Oct-Mar) when snow is a consideration, a 4x4 or AWD vehicle is recommended. We do our best to keep the driveway (3/4 mile) plowed; however, due to the remote location it is not always a quick turn-around after a heavy snowfall. The cabin has baseboard heating with additional space heaters in the bedrooms. The wood stove is a necessity (and a pleasure) during the winter and firewood is provided. The hot tub is maintained year-round.
