A reading is taken upon check-in and another one is taken upon check out and the difference in the two readings would be the units consumed. Each unit would be charged at €0.30/kw. All tourists visiting Malta have to pay an eco-tax contribution at €0.50 per person per night. This is not applicable to persons below 18 years of age and is capped at €5 per person.
