Welcome to Birch View Cottage on Chipman Lake (aka Tinmouth Pond) in Southern Vermont. Located in the quaint town of Tinmouth, this cottage was completely renovated in the last 10 years. It is 4-season, so it offers summer and winter fun. It's mere steps from the lake, so grab a kayak, canoe or raft and enjoy the water. We offer the use of three kayaks and a canoe. There is a great fire pit right off the deck for smores and in the winter, access to 5 ski areas less than hour away! The space This airy, cheerful lakefront cottage can sleep 7 people comfortably. This is the perfect place to enjoy the quiet, read a book and recharge. The first floor has two bedrooms, each with a double bed and a full bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower. The half bath has a toilet only and is in the laundry area. The second floor is perfect for children, with two single beds and a day bed. The second floor also has a spacious TV area with a desk and lots of puzzles and games. The kitchen area is stocked with all the basics you will need for your stay. The lake is less than 15 feet from the back deck. Guests can enjoy drinks and grill dinner outside as the sun goes down over the water. There are hiking trails nearby and fall foliage is spectacular. In the winter, you are approximately 25 miles from Pico, Okemo and Bromley; 30 miles to Killington and Stratton. For the shopping / dining enthusiast, it is roughly 20 minutes to Dorset and 25 minutes to Manchester or Rutland. NEW IN THE SUMMER OF 2020: Beautiful Dock, Refrigerator and Grill!! Please make sure that you understand that children and water can present dangerous situations. We want your stay to be enjoyable and safe so please always know where your children are when you are near the water. Guest access The entire cottage is for guest use. Other things to note We provide 3 kayaks and paddles and a canoe which are on the north side of the cottage. If you need more kayaks, blueridgeoutfitters (ask for Kim) is terrific and will usually deliver before your arrival if you would like and will pick up as well. We do use it for showering, cooking when boiling, etc. There will be a 4 gallon jug of water in a water dispenser to the left of the fridge and there will be extra water in the hall closet as well. The cleaning fee covers the cost to change linens, full house cleaning, trash removal and new extra protocols as directed by AirBnB.
