The 7th Jhana Retreat house aka Rainbow Ridge was designed as a personal retreat space at my home high in the Andes Mountains. Atop a ridge overlooking this sacred valley, home to the pueblo of Vilcabamba , protected by the “Sleeping Inca,” known as Mandango, who represents the energies of the sacred masculine and feminine in harmonious balance, the 7th Jhana guesthouse is a comfortable and beautiful cabin most suitable for the solitary traveler who wishes to spend quiet time in contemplation. The space The guest house is beautifully constructed from natural materials — adobe and wood. It is well appointed with sheets, towels, a great shower, and a wonderful kitchen for your use. The living space has a comfortable sofa, table and chair. It’s a great place to read and listen to the birds. Just outside, a comfortable porch has a hammock and chairs for enjoying the views of the mountains, looking toward Podocarpus, a national reserve. Trips into Podocarpus can be reserved. The upstairs loft bedroom has a queen size bed, large closet, and a deck for watching the sunsets over Mandango Mountain. The tall ceiling is comfortable, even for larger guests, and accommodates a view window for seeing the sunrise from bed in the morning. The dining area has comfortable seating, a large table and Ethernet connection cord so it also makes a comfortable work space. The town is 15 minutes away and just a $6 taxi ride. Guest access A beautiful, natural pool with an exceptional view is available to guests (during guest hours.) Stock up in town for food and coffee, and use ready to harvest food from the garden and fruit trees on the farm. Enjoy the hammock and fire pit under the trees in the shade garden. Other things to note While my little farm is remote and mostly very quiet, situated on a hill overlooking the sacred valley of longevity, it does provide access to one of the town's water supplies on the hill above. Occasionally a worker or neighbor may pass through the gate just below the guesthouse. Your privacy will not be impacted as the foliage affords a barrier between the cabin and the path. Additionally in the interest of full disclosure, I have dogs a good distance away who may occasionally bark when they are alerted to passers by, but rest assured they add to the security of our farm.
