Essex Farm Guest House
Essex Farm's Guest House sits in the heart of the hamlet of Essex, population 721. It's a four bedroom old fashioned charmer in the historic district with a huge backyard and front porch glimpes of Lake Champlain. Walking distance to the Essex Ferry to Vermont, Beggs Park on the water, and Essex's cafes and restaurants. Essex Farm, the subject of Kristin Kimball's bestselling memoirs, The Dirty Life and Good Husbandry, is one mile away via public walking trail. The space This historic house has been lived in and loved for the last 150 years by families, farmers and now guests to our beloved town. The most important parts are modern - a functional kitchen, on-demand hot water, brand new mattresses and strong wifi. But we have not altered the soul of the house, and the feeling inside is very casual and comfortable. The tin ceilings, windows and wood trim are original and a little rough, but we think that's part of the charm. Some guests say it's like staying at a beloved grandmother's house, a generation ago. Guest access The listing is for the entire house, with 4 bedrooms and full bath on the second floor. Kitchen, half bath, sitting room and entry are on the first floor. Other things to note 2 queen beds, 1 full, 1 twin
