The space Villa Rio y Mar is tucked off the main Calle Real and about 100 meters from the ocean. Many guests come for one night and end up staying longer to enjoy our location away from the bustle of the towns and cities. Some have likened visiting Cuba to time traveling. Many things in our country have not changed since the late 50's. But we have! We've added a second story with two rooms that open to a terrace with glimpses of the sea, mountains and river thru the treetops. La Boca is traditional cuban fishing village waiting to be discovered by travelers seeking something a little different and away from the bustle of larger centers. Our casa is your casa. We have two beautiful terraces / patios that are traveler favorites and yours to enjoy. Outdoor dining on our terrace is a highlight. Guests have access through a main front entry to their private room with private bathroom. We have a total of 2 rooms for rent both on the upper floor with terrace overlooking el caribe thru the tree tops. Both have private bathrooms. Let us know what you require and we will totally do our best to accommodate you. What is a "CASA , VILLA or HOSTAL" in Cuba? Similar to a bed and breakfast. Cubans can rent out rooms to tourists provided they have a license, meet certain standards and pay the required tax. They also may offer meals and usually these meals are the best food around. These accommodations offer tourists a way to experience Cuba and to meet and make friends with Cubans . They are government inspected, clean, comfortable and usually with private bathroom. There are 1000’s of Casa Particulars/ Hostels/Villas throughout Cuba. You probably will not find the ‘luxuries’ that come with the resort or hotel but more important is the hospitality of the Cubans that make a rich and unforgettable adventure. Casa owners make you feel at home and provide a very safe and secure environment. Cubans are very proud of their country and genuinely pleased to have you visit and enjoy what they have to offer. There is some internet access in Cuba but bring a map or download maps me for off line viewing. Guest access You have access to the whole house and rear garden. There is secure parking. The two rooms on the upper floor are very private. The terrace is large and both rooms open out onto the front overlooking glimpses of the sea which is only a 3 min walk away. There is also a side terrace overlooking the mountains. There is a large main floor terrace for guest use. Although house access is shared you have privacy as the house is large and the family area is in the rear. Other things to note Meals available upon request. Breakfast is 7$ USD pp and dinners 12usd pp.. Also there are good restaurants close by for other meals. Guests should bring rechargable headlamps and be prepared for power outages throughout Cuba.
