There are children and animals on this property, so expect noises. This property is located on the Susquehanna River. We have trails around our property, fire pits. Please expect a farm environment as we do have chickens. If you don’t like animals or children please don’t book our place. This loft shares a stair but once you are inside the loft it is only you. Other things to note After hosting on this loft and the older loft for some time I have enough great reviews to describe its qualities. Now I am going to write a description for the people who wish they had the money to book a Hilton but can only afford a cheap Airbnb in Apalachin. Or for those who think they would enjoy a nature experience but really they just want a cool place with Wi-Fi available… we only have one option for internet and it is cable, so no not the best wi-fi! Yes it works but maybe not the best for the people who are coming for WiFi experience only. This loft is literally attached to my house. It sits above my garage. There is one way to go up to the loft and it goes through my messy garage. You can come and go at any time of day an night. All you have to do it manually open the garage door. So if you need to check in super late not a problem. You can follow the directions I will give and find the loft while me and my two children peacefully sleep. No I can’t hear your baby crying or your child running… we have 4 children between me and my friend that lives in the other apartment in the house, so we are totally fine with children. Now if you would like to have a loud party at morning hours I would like you to consider another lodging. You can park anywhere in the parking lot. Maybe not directly blocking the garage entrance… you can park in front of it but maybe not blocking literally… The accommodations we have a regular shower, regular toilet and sink. One Kitchenette. You can use a microwave, toaster oven, mini fridge, hot water kettle and coffee maker. We provide a small amount of coffee, sugar, powder creamer, and tea. The beds is a full size foam mattress. The grounds… end of June and July we have black raspberry and July we have blackberries you are welcome to pick! We have plenty mosquitoes and ticks around since we live by a river and have lots of woods with deer and such. So if you would like to walk around we highly recommend bug spray. We have always bug spray in the garage if you need. Yes they contain deet and we don’t provide more healthier options sorry. There are trails and also access to the river. We have one kayak as of now that you are welcome to use and we also have bikes available. We have chickens and a dog. Julius loves to welcome everyone, so if you have a pet that does not like other dogs please let me know and I will put Julius inside. Now for your arrival please ensure to tell me your approximate time of arrival if you do not like dogs or have a pet that does not like dogs 🐶. This is our home and Julius is part of it, so he is where we are and that means in the summer usually outside. Julius has the freedom to go anywhere in the property and he absolutely loves guiding our guests around the trails and to the river. If you say river he will start running towards the river to show you the way. So if you do not want Julius to be present when you arrive please tell me ahead of time otherwise he will be outside to welcome you. Our chickens are free roam and locked at night. They help us by eating ticks that live around the house, but they also bring flies with them. So please consider this as a farm. Think of this situation… if you go inside the loft and there is a fly and you need to call me to kill it for you… maybe consider Hilton. No the room does not have flies all over, but yes here and there a fly will make their way inside, or tinny bugs… this is an old farm house!! This is a super safe location. My car is always open with keys in the ignition, so really you don’t have to put all sorts of equipments to avoid a car theft, but if it makes you more comfortable go for it. There is a key in the loft if you wish to lock it when you are not around. Me and my children will only enter the room when you have checked out and I need to clean it otherwise we do not go into the loft while you are staying here. The garage door is never locked and neither is the loft, so when you check in it is open and not locked, no need for a key or code. Yes we will be around the garage, outside and in the house. So if you are a super light sleeper we do offer ear plugs, but you may consider a quiet place. My children wake up early. We try to avoid making lots of noise, but sometimes they have their moments. I have nurses that stay here and say they get the best sleep ever, but I don’t know how… So if you are ok with seeing toys around the lot, children running around, dogs chasing you…. Welcome this is the perfect place for you! Some guests come and go and we barely interact, some guests we chat and enjoy great time and they even eat dinner we may cook. Up to you, but we are here because this is our home. There are fire pits around the property and you are welcome to use, table outside, hammock, swings and a grill. You have to go dig for wood for the fire pit. We have plenty but you will have to go find and break it. I always tell guests if you need anything please just ask!!! From time to time I have forgotten to add towels, or add more coffee.. I run several airbnbs and specially in the summer with my two children in tow… so my brain may not be 100% focused… so please just message me. We are super chill, no you don’t have to do much for check out… I just ask for dishes to be done and not leave trash everywhere. Other than that please don’t worry about anything else. Again we live here and work here, so if I am mowing the lawn And you arrive… sorry we will greet you not like a Hilton check in attendant… yes I have had people give me bad starts and write on the private part about it. Absolutely no smoking allowed in the loft. We do have a very large property, so please go outside away from the house to smoke. If you book last minute the room will not be cool or warm immediately this loft is separate from my house heating or cooling so I do have to turn it on. Keep that in mind when booking last minute. We absolutely enjoy our guests and their stories, but I don’t appreciate the guests that just want to get a deal, but expect a Hilton. I work very hard to make the loft comfortable and clean, but this a very modest home! Please don’t book if you expect to stay at a palace. As I said… we have children, dog, chickens and work a lot specially in the summer…. So the loft will be in perfect condition but the garage and outside yes there will be a mess. So please don’t book if you will just get here and expect a refund because I am a single mom and this is a big part of my income. It is an affordable Airbnb not a hotel.
