Beech Cottage Vermont
One bedroom cottage with full kitchen situated at the edge of a large meadow in the forest. Walk through the meadow to a brook at the edge of the forest. You may feel better. Close to hiking and under an hour to ski resorts. Owner lives 100 feet up the hill and may be seen outside in the meadow, garden or shared driveway. There is a pull out queen sofa bed in the living room in addition to the queen bed in the bedroom, although the cottage is most comfortable for 1 or 2 guests. The space Beech Cottage, named for the Beech trees along the path, is a small 465 square foot guest house that feels airy with high ceilings and lots of windows looking out to the meadows and forest. Built in 2019, it has newer appliances including a Bosch gas stove. There is a whisper quiet Panasonic heat pump that provides warmth in winter and a cool space in summer. A backup propane heater is there for use in power outages. Water is potable. Guest access The cottage and front deck is all yours! There is also a small back deck looking out to the trees and large boulder beside an old rock wall. Walk through the meadow to a path beside the brook at the edge of the forest. Listen to the sound of water moving over rocks. Other things to note I-91 is half a mile away as the raven flies, and at some times distant freeway noise can be heard. Coffee, tea and sugar are provided. Drip coffee maker, single cup Melita, or French press. Dark roast coffee. Earl Grey Stash and Tazo teas among some other choices. Bring your own creamer. Olive oil and grape seed oil for cooking. The Wifi is high speed through Starlink, although storms can impact the signal. Cellular service is decent and sufficient for a call but wifi calling may be better. From Beech Cottage you can see a corner of the main house where I live, up the hill 100 feet. I respect guests' privacy, but you may see me around the property. I am friendly and sociable, but respectful of your privacy! The dark skies allow nighttime star gazing, so please shut off exterior lights by 10 pm to preserve the view for all to enjoy. In the summer there have been hundreds of fireflies in the meadow. The EV Charger is free to use, and automatically shuts off during Green Mountain Power peak hours of M-F 1pm to 9pm (due to the rate plan), but if you need it to be on during those peak hours please let me know. It is a J1772 but there is a Tesla adapter available if needed. 30 solar panels provide renewable energy to the home and to the electrical grid. There is a much sought after dog boarding service (The Dog House at Working K9 Services) up the road a quarter mile which gets very good reviews.
