Whether you like to fish, float, creek stop or hike, "Meet Me at the Creek" has it all! This charming cottage was built in 1936 and has been completely renovated. Your stay boasts a new full kitchen, 3 spacious bedrooms, two full baths, and best of all, sits only 45 feet away from the sprawling Neshannock Creek. As the locals know, the Neshannock Creek isn’t just any creek, but this particular stretch is stocked both spring and fall with large trout, including the more rare Palominos. If fishing isn’t your hobby, tie your tube in the creek, or better yet, find your favorite stretch of the creek and put in your tube or kayak. Bring your laptops for the writers as we have a desk with a view. In the evening you can relax by the campfire under the beautiful Western PA star speckled sky. You will have everything that you could possibly want here at “Meet Me at the Creek" cottage, but if you do decide to venture out, take a short walk up the hill and connect to the old rail trails, where you will pass by Amish fields, lush woods, spot deer and various types of birds. If you want to go for a longer walk, stay the course to merge onto the official “Neshannock Creek Trail.” This is a 4.1 mile stretch that begins on Covered Bridge Road. The Banks Covered Bridge constructed in 1889, is the reason for the name of the road and it is a historical landmark you will want to see. This landmark serves as another wonderful fishing spot! The Neshannock Creek Trail ends in the quaint borough called Volant, where you can stock up on some new fishing gear at the Neshannock Creek Fly Shop. Check out Derailed Distillery for some Strawberry Milkshake Moonshine and don’t forget to grab a slice of pizza at the Volant Pizzeria. Make sure you stop by the famous Volant Mills for old fashioned candy, Amish furniture, and just about anything else you can think of. Another picturesque town less than a 10-minute drive, is New Wilmington. Walk the immaculate grounds of Westminster College, visit the new creperie, "Theo's" for breakfast or lunch, stop into Bakluva, where fresh baklava and gelato is served daily, or pop into West Vine 101, a unique giftery and finds shop. Save room for local Amish made donuts at Pulse Coffee Shop, and in the spring and summer, search for dozens of scenic Amish greenhouses and bakeries nearby. You can even take an official private or group guided Amish tour through “The Simple Life" Amish tours. During the summer, on Saturdays, check out the local farmers market, "Fresh Marketplace," where you can eat prepared foods, hear local musicians perform, and shop for high quality, locally produced goods. You can choose to stay busy here, or choose to stay relaxed, but you can’t choose either of those if you do not stay at this gem.
