Grand Trunk Cottage - a home for all seasons
Built during the heyday of the Grand Trunk Railway, our 1858 house is an established part of the Androscoggin Valley, featuring modern updates for a comfortable stay. Gorham is close to Mount Washington (10 mins), Wildcat ski area (15 mins), Sunday River (30 mins) and a gateway to over 1400 miles of snowmobile / ATV trail systems & 6 interconnected parks (including Jericho State Park), as well as numerous hiking trails. The space Air conditioning was installed in September 2024. Two king-size bedrooms and a full bathroom (including shower + tub) comfortably accommodate 4 adults. A smaller (downstairs) bedroom with twin bed is suitable for an additional adult, or a child. There is a living room with separate dining room, and the large fully-equipped kitchen is ideal if you prefer to eat-in. Free WiFi is available throughout the main living areas. Equipment can be safely stored in the laundry room, accessible by the back door. Outdoor seating should be stored in the laundry room when not in use. Guest access You have access to the entire house apart from the basement. The garage will be locked and not accessible. Please park on the driveway. There is a winter parking ban on city streets overnight (11pm - 6am) from November 1 to April 1. Other things to note This is an OLD house and as such has its creaks and quirks. The floors are not all level, the walls are crooked in places and there will be random noises but nothing to worry about. Some guests feel that the stairs are a little steep but the handrails help with this. Please be aware that if you stay during the week, you may be disturbed by the freight trains (SLR 393 / 394) that pass through Gorham around midnight and blast their horn.
