Keehn Hideaway-Hot tub/King bed/Horses/Secluded!
Come relax in our brand new Amish-made mini-HIDEAWAY! (Couples, friends, mother/daughter, business, or ME-time). We built our DREAM PLACE (with a brand new hot tub, GAS grill, and GAS firepit), and we are now sharing it with you! Located on 20 acres in the beautiful hills of Kentucky, you will be AMAZED at the sunsets and quietness. There are no near neighbors except the chirping birds and our horses to pet, watch, and feed. There's so much to do on and off the property. Come be refreshed! The space Our family has worked together to make this Hideaway a VERY unique and special memory-making opportunity. Everything is brand new and excellent in quality. Our professional cleaner is extremely detailed, so everything is honestly clean! This delightful spot can be very romantic or simply relaxing, together time or time alone, some of any, or all of the above. The 1 1/2 mile easy drive in from the main road looks like a postcard, as you weave through open farmlands. (And Walmart is only 8 minutes away.) As you travel down your personal 1/4 mile Hideaway lane, you will see our 16x42 newly built mini-cabin (finished January 2024), which is surrounded by more acres of farmland and woods. In the summer, you cannot see the faraway neighbors across the huge fields. The one nearer neighbor is not visible, located 1/8 mile away on the other side of the woods. Our home is not visible from the Hideaway either, located 1/8 mile away, on the other side of the property, separated by more woods. (However, our guests who've needed something, are THRILLED that we are on the property instead of in a far-away land!) Our secluded cabin is tucked in with natural landscape that makes you feel hidden. It is RARE to have privacy and a view, but that is what it has. We love that you can CHOOSE to be "unplugged" from the outside world, but also have the safety of easily reaching out, or making a quick store run if needed. Our herd of painted horses graze in the front pasture, and there are carrots in the refrigerator to feed to them. You can watch them amble about as you relax on the porch. The sunsets from the front porch are stunning. There is a 3-mile (5k) roundtrip walk/run from the front door, down our family's private road and back, shared only with the far-away neighbors on the adjoining farm. You could also bring your rollerblades to enjoy the 2 1/2 mile roundtrip paved country road. The scenery is picturesque. As you enter our Hideaway, you will notice it smells brand new and fresh, instead of the musty smell that is common in cabins. You will find no slouching furniture or bent silverware. Handmade farmhouse doors with rope handles add to the cabin feel. Every window has wooden blinds for privacy. Enjoy the chocolate kisses and Dove chocolates you find throughout. Notice that there are no clocks on the walls. The main room is lined with string lights to create a romantic or cozy feel. It includes the kitchen, dining, and sitting areas. The kitchen is decked out with all brand new pots, pans, crockpot, baking items, charcuterie board, plenty of dishes, and dish towels, etc. There is coffee, creamers, sugar, oil, a few spices, tinfoil, ziplocks, paper towels, and cupboard room for your food. There are also brand new appliances--a full-size refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher. Having a dishwasher means two things: The dishes are truly clean AND you don't have to wash them--Yay!! You might want to bring extra cream or half and half to enjoy our YUMMY freshly ground ORGANIC coffee! The dining area has a table for two under the window and is a great place to enjoy a game from the bookshelf. Our Hideaway notebook also resides here and is full of valuable info and fun ideas to do on and off of the property. Curl up in the sitting area on our brand new loveseat and enjoy a good book or a movie and popcorn (provided). We have a variety of movies on our mini-bookshelf and Pureflix available to you for free. Or you can bring your own movie and enjoy it on our DVD player. In the hall is our adorable bathroom with a shower and essentials, such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a blow dryer. There are plenty of BIG high-quality towels for the hot tub and shower. Go through the side door, down the ramp, to the secluded back patio. A beautiful view awaits (unless the corn is tall, which provides even more privacy). Grill supper on the gas grill (no charcoal to light), roast marshmallows (provided) over the propane firepit (no wood to mess with), and then take a dip in our brand new CLEAN, white large hot tub, with a jet-filled lounging chair inside. (It's fun to sit in the hot tub in the colder winters too, watching the steam roll off the water!) String lights are available on the patio, or you can turn them off and enjoy the evening stars. In the bedroom you will find a brand new king-size plush bed adorned with string lights. The bed is completed with a down comforter, plenty of pillows, and WHITE sheets. The farmhouse bedroom door has a huge full-size mirror. Enjoy the view through the large window. The mini-closet has hangers, an iron, and plenty of room for your belongings. At bedtime, pull down the blackout shade so you can sleep in. Our Hideaway is also a perfect place to relax in the evenings during a business trip. If you have a home job, enjoy working on our computer lap-desk (our portable "dedicated work space"), while you take in fresh air on the front porch or back patio. You might want to bring your favorite book too =). There is a 6 foot picnic table on the side of our cabin that you can do hobbies, crafts, a puzzle, or work, while enjoying lunch and sunshine. How refreshing new scenery and chirping birds can be! You can even hear our Russellville train in the distance each morning and afternoon, adding to the country feel. Read our Hideaway notebook for more special-moment ideas, as well as a host of things to do that aren't too far away. Most of all, relax, and do those things that refresh you! Guest access The GPS will lead you right to our Keehn Country sign and lane. Soon after you turn left, you will veer left at the only fork where the Keehn Hideaway sign is. Follow your personal 1/4 mile gravel lane around the horse pasture to your hideaway on the other side of the tree patch. Other things to note *Our cat, Monique, enjoys visiting our guests sometimes. *FEED THE HORSES AT YOUR OWN RISK. We do not take responsibility for accidents. Please don't go inside the fence. And please only feed them the carrots we left for you in the refrigerator. Thanks so much! Ps. Remember the fence is electric and will shock you if touched. *Enjoy reading our guestbook to see what others have enjoyed. They've left alot of good ideas! *If you would like to stay longer, feel free to ask if it is available. If it is, you can either book through the next day on the Airbnb app, or you can enjoy the day and have an evening 6p checkout for $50 or 9p checkout for $70. *Our "Dedicated work space" means using our computer lap-desk while enjoying the outdoors or couch, OR sitting at our kitchen table or outside picnic table. We don't have a desk dedicated to work. *Our cleaner comes the night before or the morning of your check in. The back patio is cleaned off well. Since there are trees overhanging, there might be leaves or bird droppings that arrived after cleaning. *Remember you are in the country, so you might encounter a bug or a little tree frog or two. However, we have sealed and sprayed the Hideaway to keep those parts of nature at bay. OTHER DETAILS... *Downtown Russellville is only 8 minutes away. It has a Walmart, Rulers, Piggly Wiggly, a cute coffee shop, hard and soft ice cream, a few restaurants and fast food places, Kentucky Fried Chicken😊, thrift shops, souvenir shops, and a cute little town square. *We are one hour North of Nashville, TN! There is so much to do there! *We are one hour away from Mammoth Cave, the biggest cave system in the world! They have extremely easy hikes (and a wheel chair hike too!) and very difficult hikes. Whether it's hot, cold, or raining outside, the cave maintains the same temperature of 60 degrees. You will need a light jacket. *Clarksville is 45 minutes away. *Bowling Green is 35 minutes away and is home to the Corvette Museum and the Lost River Cave, and has more restaurants per capita than any other city in America. *Elkton is 30 minutes away where you can enjoy the Amish stores (details in notebook).
