This sprawling oasis includes both the Main House and Guest House which sit on 5 acres of Saguaro-studded natural beauty in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. Featuring a heated pool, 6-person spa, and a fully-outfitted detached Game Room, this retreat has everything you need to enjoy the outdoors with your family or group, regardless of the season. The space Featuring 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths between the 3000 square foot Main House and the 650 square foot Guest House, this home is the perfect place for a group to spread out and relax. In the Main House, the primary bedroom as well as two of the guest rooms feature en-suite baths to ensure everyone's privacy. Three comfortable twin-sized roll-away beds are provided for ultimate flexibility in sleeping arrangements. The Guest House features a primary bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bath as well as a living room with a bunk bed and kitchenette. Whether you are traveling with your family, extended family, multiple families or friends, this vacation home has what you need. Guest access The Tucson Desert Retreat is situated in the foothills of the Tortolita Mountains, 30 minutes north of downtown Tucson. To access our home, you will drive down an unpaved road for about a mile. The road is well-maintained and flat so any vehicle should be suitable for the drive. The location does feel remote and off-the-beaten track which adds to the feeling of retreating from it all. Tucson offers outdoor activities year-round and we are conveniently located among several world-renowned golf courses as well as premier hiking and biking destinations. No matter what brings you to Tucson, we are sure you'll find our home a great jumping off point. For reference, we are located: New Fry's Grocery Store - 8 minutes Oro Valley (Restaurants/Shopping) -12 minutes The Ritz-Carlton at Dove Mountain (Golf) -15 minutes Omni Tucson National Resort (Golf) - 15 minutes University of Arizona - 30 minutes Congress Street/6th Ave Hotspots (Downtown) - 30 minutes Tucson International Airport - 40 minutes Other things to note ***These are IMPORTANT DETAILS AND DISCLOSURES about our property. Please read carefully before booking and feel free to reach out with any questions! *** As a general rule, please remember that this is our family's second home. Please treat it as if you are our guest -with respect for our property and our neighbors. Leave the home how you found it. If you are looking for a place to party, this is not the house for you! We reserve the right to charge an additional cleaning fee if the house is excessively dirty upon check-out. Also, our family has extreme allergies to smoke. Absolutely no smoking within 20 feet of the house. We will charge a $500 fee for smoking violations. Some important things to note: -Heated Pool: For cost and energy efficiency, we ONLY heat our pool if requested. If you are traveling Sept-May, we will touch base a week before your trip and double-check whether you'd like the pool heated during your stay. A few notes about pool heating: -Pool must be heated for a minimum of 3 consecutive days -Pool heater will be set to 85*F and we will monitor the temperature -We cannot guarantee that it will always reach and maintain temperature, as everything is weather-dependent See the schedule below for the additional fees to offset the cost of heating the pool. This fee will be charged before check-in via a separate money request. Fees for Heating the Pool: Sept: $60/ day Oct: $80/ day Nov: $100/ day Dec: $120/ day Jan: $120/ day Feb: $120/ day March: $100/ day Apr: $80/ day May: $60/ day -Pets/Animals: None allowed. Our family has serious animal allergies so we are unable to accommodate requests to bring your animal on your trip. -Parties: Parties are never permitted. Please observe quiet time from 10p - 8a. Unauthorized parties will incur a $500 fee and the booking will be immediately terminated. If we receive noise complaints we will contact the person who booked and if verified, they will receive a $250 fee. -Number of Overnight Guests: Please make sure your total guest count is accurate before booking. No additional day visitors are allowed. -Audio and Video Monitoring: For safety and security, exterior video cameras are in place at the front entryway, back driveway, and back gate. This is for your safety and the security of our home. There is no audio/video monitoring inside the home or of the pool deck. -Parking: No parking allowed in the garage-turned-game room. Please confirm the amount of cars expected on the property upon booking. No RVs or camping allowed on the property. -Desert Wildlife: This is the Sonoran Desert and there are animals, insects and reptiles all around. Use wisdom around wildlife. Our favorite spot for viewing wildlife is from the kitchen window! We’ve seen lots of deer, javelinas, a big turtle, and more birds than you could count -lots of quail, doves and roadrunners. We’ve seen a variety of lizards and there are undoubtedly snakes in the desert. We have also seen spiders and a couple of scorpions -again, watch where you walk, use a flashlight at night, and stay on the trails around the property. -Cell Phone Service: Our cell service is spotty at times until you enable WiFi calling on your phone. Once enabled, our mesh WiFi system works great throughout the whole property. -Internet Speed: We have Starlink internet service that has reliably provided fast speeds and constant connection. If you have specific internet needs such as a VPN for work purposes, please check that Starlink internet service will work for your needs prior to booking. -Contractors: There may be contractors on-site at some point during your stay. We do our best to plan big appointments outside of our guests' stays, but between weekly pool care, propane tank refills, and various other services, there is a chance someone will need to access the outdoor property during your stay. -AZ License Number 21409206
