The next door, Hot Bite serves great hamburgers and milkshakes. The Forbidden Peak Brewery and Squirez business complex is across the street. The complex hosts three restaurants, a hair salon, a second-hand retail shop, a laundromat, and a sports bar with a view of Auke Bay-Squirez Rest. This private, entire apartment, is on the third floor of a three-story building. South-west facing, ocean and Mountain views are enjoyed from the dining and living rooms, or the balcony vantage point during an evening cocktail or snack! The kitchen is stocked with cooking equipment, oven/range, microwave, toaster, and coffee pot. The TV is a smart TV so you can stream your favorite apps. You'll have a parking spot, and coin-op laundry is available in the building. Captain's Quarters is in a picturesque, Auke Bay harbor parking lot, just 1.5 miles from the Juneau Ferry Terminal, 3.5 miles from the airport, 5.5 miles from the famous Mendenhall Glacier, less than a mile from the University of Alaska, and 11.5 miles from Downtown Juneau. Brand new Forbidden Peaks Brewery, Deharts convenience store, Fisherman’s Bend dock and gas station, post office, university, school, and churches are all within close walking distance. You'll have access to your private two-bedroom apartment. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the other has a full-sized bed. Your unit has a full bath, kitchen, and living room. Your entire private apartment is self-check-in so late arrival is not a problem. You'll be given the lock box code a few days prior to your arrival. Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am. Great Auke Bay Location – It's a block from the city bus stop and in the heart of the Auke Bay walking community. This is not a downtown Juneau property. Downtown Juneau is substantially more expensive than the Mendenhall Valley/Auke Bay, so this location for the price should not be compared to that of downtown. If you want to be downtown and don't want to take a 45-minute bus ride to go 15 miles, then this space is not for you. Great Value – Juneau is expensive, especially during peak season, and while this is a more affordable option, we understand that it can seem expensive. Part of the value is the ability to rent for only one night and have additional people. The price fluctuates depending on the season. There are two remotes. Both remotes should be on the TV stand. One turns on the TV and can also control the volume. The Amazon Firestick remote will allow you to log into your apps. Select the appropriate buttons on the Firestick remote for the apps you want to access. Use your login credentials for Netflix or whatever streaming app that you have. If you don’t have any apps of your own, I would suggest signing up for a free YouTube account, so you can log in to access a bunch of stuff including news channels. We don't have cable so don't scroll through the channels. It won't work. If the TV says "no signal" when you turn it on, the streaming device may not be in the same input as it is programmed to. Hit the "input" button on the TV remote and choose HDMI1, then HDMI2, and so on until the app screen shows up. It will say no signal if it isn't the correct input. At that point, you can try the next input option. ​​​​​​Laundry: The washing machines are in the carport which is a common space shared with the other three units. These machines are coin-op and take quarters - $2 per machine. The key for the laundry room is in the closet off the living room on a hook on the right side. Make sure you put the key back when you are done. We don’t provide laundry soap. Trash: The dumpster is in the parking lot on the right side and is locked. The key is in the closet off of the living room on a hook on the right side. Make sure to put the key back when you are done. it is important to keep the dumpster locked because of the busy harbor activity and the bear issues that are caused by overflowing trash.
