Guest access From the driveway, walk to the front door (Green) and enter the code you give in your arrival instructions email. Other things to note We are delighted to offer you an Espresso Machine to help you enjoy a delicious cup of coffee during your stay. Whether you are a seasoned barista or new to making espresso, this guide will walk you through the steps to brew a perfect cup of espresso. 1. Getting Started  Locate the Barista Express Espresso Machine in the kitchen (to the right of the refrigerator).  Check that the machine is clean and ready for use. If not, please clean it before starting  Turn on the machine by pressing the leftmost button and waiting for all blinking white lights to be solid white 2. Ingredients and Equipment  You will need freshly roasted coffee beans (initially provided in the hopper), filtered water (in the reservoir at the back), and a cup or glass to catch your espresso shot.  Make sure the water reservoir is filled with fresh cold water and the bean hopper is filled (top left of the machine) 3. Grinding the Coffee  Adjust the grind size using the grind size dial on the left side. Finer (lower numbers) for stronger shots, coarser (higher numbers) for milder shots. Recommended use is size 2-3, which we have found to work best  Press the " Grind Amount" button to select the amount of coffee you want to grind (either single or double shot size – default is double).  Push the portafilter into the tray once, and coffee will automatically grind into the portafilter 4. Tamping  Remove the portafilter from the tray and place it on a flat surface.  Use the tamper (magnetically held on the machine's left side) to press down the coffee grounds in the portafilter firmly. Apply even pressure. 5. Preparing the Espresso Shot  Insert the portafilter into the slot on the right side (at an angle, with the handle to the left), and twist counter-clockwise until tight  Choose your shot size (single or double) using the " Single Cup" or " Double Cup" button (consistent with the amount of coffee ground in Step 3)  Press the " Start" button to initiate the extraction process. The machine will pump hot water through the coffee grounds. 6. Frothing Milk (Optional)  If you'd like to make a latte or cappuccino, use the steam wand on the right side of the machine.  Fill the metal pitcher with cold milk of your choice and submerge the steam wand into it  Turn the steam wand knob towards the front of the machine to start frothing (it will take a few seconds, eventually making a pumping sound). Move the pitcher up and down to create creamy, microfoam and the provider thermometer to achieve the desired temperature/texture.  Once complete, turn the knob back to vertical (remove the wand once pressure has diminished to reduce splashing) 7. Assembling Your Coffee  Once your espresso shot is ready, it will automatically dispense into your cup or glass (Step 5).  If you frothed milk, pour it into your espresso to make your favorite espresso-based drink.  To add hot water, place your glass to the left of the steam wand and turn the steam wand knob towards the back of the machine and wait; turn back to vertical once complete 8. Cleanup  Turn off the espresso machine and wipe the steam wand with a damp towel/napkin  Remove the portafilter and knock out the used coffee grounds into a bin.  Rinse and dry the portafilter, drip tray, and water reservoir to remove any residue.  The wastewater reservoir below the machine may fill up and have to be emptied (a yellow flag will show if required); carefully pull the bottom tray out Downstairs Stove:  Hit the power button on the remote while pointing at the stove  The stove will beep and light after a few seconds (be patient; a slight clicking noise can be heard)  Adjust the height of the flame by pressing the up/down arrows (default is the highest flame)  Please do not press the mode button at the bottom of the remote (if you do, hit it again until the thermometer icon at the top left says “Off”)  When finished with the stove, please hit the power button again; the stove will beep and turn off OUTSIDE FIRE STOVE We're excited to provide you with a Yukon Size Solo Stove and a spark screen for a cozy outdoor experience on our back deck. Whether you want to enjoy a warm fire or roast marshmallows (roasting sticks provided under the coffee machine, to the right of the stove), this guide will help you use the Solo Stove safely and effectively. 1. Location and Setup  The solo stove is located between the back deck furniture – please be conscious of overhead lights if you wish to move it, and be sure to place it securely on a flat surface, with the heat ring underneath.  Ensure appropriate clearance from any flammable materials, structures, or overhanging branches  Remove the cover and remove the spark screen/ring/tongs from the fire pit. Place the ring first, with the lip up, then the spark arrester (remove the top of the arrester for access) 2. Gather Supplies  You'll need dry firewood or firewood pellets, newspaper or fire starters, and a lighter or matches (provided).  Place these items within reach of the Solo Stove for easy access. 3. Preparing the Fire  Start by placing some crumpled newspaper or a fire starter at the bottom of the Solo Stove's fire pit (ensure any ash if brushed aside so the ventilation holes below are clear)  Add small pieces of firewood or firewood pellets on top of the newspaper.  Light the newspaper or fire starter with a lighter or matches. 4. Building the Fire  Gradually add larger pieces of firewood or pellets to the fire as it grows. Be cautious not to overcrowd the fire pit until the fire is well established.  Ensure additional wood is gently added to the fire to avoid too many sparks  The fire is well established once the flame is consistently ~ 5-6 inches above the top of the stove 5. Safety Precautions  Always supervise the fire and keep a close eye on it.  Avoid using accelerants like gasoline or lighter fluid, as they can be dangerous.  Keep a bucket of water (provided) or a fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergencies. 6. Adding the Spark Screen  Once the fire is well-established and you want to prevent sparks from flying, carefully place the spark screen on top of the Solo Stove with the provided tongs. Make sure it's securely in place.  You can remove the top of the screen to add additional wood as needed 7. Extinguishing the Fire & Storing the Stove  When you are done enjoying the fire, allow the wood to burn down completely.  Use the provided tongs to spread out the ashes, ensuring no hot embers are left.  Remove the spark screen once it's safe to do so (do not dump water through the screen).  Let the Solo Stove cool down completely before turning the ring and spark screen upside down and replacing the provided waterproof cover. 8. Safety First!  Always follow provided safety protocols, avoid horseplay, and ensure children are supervised/attended at all times  If you have any questions or concerns about using the Stove, please get in touch with the Getaway team  Ensure the stove remains ~5-6 feet away from anything flammable at all times, and ensure the stove is not crowded by branches, roof overhang, overhead lights, etc.  Any deviation from these rules will be considered a violation of the terms & and conditions of your stay. Outdoor Cushion Content / Storage 1. Large Storage Bin  5 Rectangular seat cushions (on the left side)  2 Square Ottoman cushions (on the right side)  2 Seat backs (on top of Ottoman cushions) 2. Left Medium Storage Bin  3 Rectangular seat cushions (bottom)  2 Seat backs (on top of cushions) 3. Right Medium Storage Bin  4 Seat backs (on bottom)  4 decorative pillows (on top)
