The space Originally built as tool shed during Folsom’s Gold Rush heyday, the Alley House was converted to residential use in the early 1950s. The house embraces its historic roots with a traditional Californian design aesthetic, complete with the 80+ year-old original fir wood flooring and bathtub. Fully renovated for energy efficiency and modern comforts in 2013, this light-filled bungalow brings nature indoors with garden views from every door and window. Outdoor dining and seating spaces are surrounded by organically cultivated edible and ornamental landscapes. Fruit trees include tangelo, blood orange, fig, olive, and pomegranate. Japanese maples, camellias, jasmines, magnolias, irises, peonies, hellebores, gardenias, climbing roses, hydrangeas (and much much more) provide seasonal interest year-round. Guest access You’ll have access to the entire house and all of the yard except the back gated vegetable garden which is currently undergoing some improvements. Other things to note Please note that there is no microwave in the kitchen.
