The space Set in a garden on a hilltop overlooking Macoucherie Beach, Casablanca is a retreat that gets you away from it all whilst keeping you within range of Dominica's many attractions. Great place to watch the green flash as the sun sets. Within 5 mins walk are the quiet Macoucherie and Salisbury beaches, while Mero village and beach (the most popular beach on the island) is only a 5 mins drive away. On main bus route. The house is bounded by a garden which extends to the the cliff edge above the beach. Seasonal fruit and herbs are grown in the garden. Guests can pick whatever is available. If you do not wish to cook or want a meal on arrival we can make arrangements. 24 hours notice is required to allow for shopping. The cook will clean up after the meal if required. There is a terrace to relax with a rum punch and enjoy exquisite sunsets over the Caribbean Sea. Should you overdo the rum punches no need to worry we grow the "paracetamol" plant in our garden. Yes this is the very plant used in paracetamol. A BBQ, hammock and curated bookshelf help provide the perfect environment to kick back island-style. Full, free wi-fi is available. The house comprises of three bedrooms: 1 king size, 1 double + single, and 1 room with 2 single beds and 2 bathrooms only one of which has hot water. There is a separate dining room and kitchen which has recently been refurbished and is stocked with local spices and seasonings PLUS complementary food for your first breakfast. If you are a person who loves nature, prefers the natural beauty of the sea and rivers to a chlorinated pool and appreciates the simple life we think you will like Casablanca. Guest access You will have the entire main house for yourself. The groundsman, Chat, lives in a studio apartment below while we live just a few minutes walk away (on the other side of the Tamarind Tree Hotel). The house is a minute or two off the West Coast “highway” . Macoucherie and Salisbury are two quiet beaches, both great for snorkeling and East Carib Dive is a good resource to help you see Dominica’s underwater gems. Other things to note Casablanca has electricity, free internet, piped potable water, solar water heater and great sunset views. Below the cliff is Macoucherie Beach which is quite stunning . Medical, shopping and eating facilities are within half a mile. Cook available if required for a small fee. We can arrange specialised tours such as a bird tours to one of the main areas for parrots, Syndicate which a short drive from Casablanca, or why not take a tour to visit a volcano and bathe in the hot springs afterwards or for total relaxation a farm tour with a dip in a sparkling clean river pool.
