Our cabin is designed to give you the real Alaskan log cabin wilderness experience, just 12 miles from Fairbanks town centre and airport. It is perfectly located at the doorstep of a host of activities all year round. In the winter and spring you can go dog sledding (which Simon provides)cross country skiing, winter biking and snow shoeing from your door step and Moose Mountain ski resort (5 miles away). In the summer there are biking and hiking trails. The cabin is in the Goldstream valley 20 minutes drive from the Fairbanks airport. The cabin is 100 feet down a trail as you come to the end of the driveway. Bedding and towels are provided! Our cozy log cabin is self contained and secluded in a beautiful forest setting overlooking a natural pond where waterfowl lands in summer and moose graze year round.. From late august to mid April the aurora can be viewed from the cabin Wildlife frequent the area, including moose, fox and sandhill cranes. The cabin is a dry cabin which means there is no running water in the cabin, but you are provided with two 5 gallon water jugs .Allocation is 5 gallons of water per day when jug is empty transfer suction hose to full water jug. The cabin can accommodates two adults in the loft on a queen bed. The Lounge has a futon that comfortably sleeps one adult or two children. The kitchen is fully equipped with propane oven ,refrigerator and all utensils ,pots ,pans for making meals . There is a separate sauna building 10 feet from the cabin. A woodstove is used to heat the sauna and water for your rinse off shower. This is primarily a sauna with a 2 minute rinse off shower . When you arrive the cabin will be unlocked and ready for your stay. The cabin is secluded so no key necessary to lock it when you leave. You can lock the door once inside if wanted Simon lives nearby and can assist when home with enquiries He will resupply water jugs at an allocation of 5 gals per day. We strongly suggest that you rent a car as there is no public transportation to get to our cabin. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is not required to access the cabin, but is recommended during the winter months if you are not used to driving in snow. Please note that sometimes in the spring and early summer when it rains too much there may be mud on the road
