Completely surrounded by a 60-acre Federal Wetlands Conservation easement, the Cottage sits next to a small stream bordered by massive granite garden walls. Close to quaint rural towns, numerous hiking trails, incredible farm stands, and lovely scenic drives, the tranquility and beauty will leave you recharged and refreshed. Total renovations were just completed in January 2023. Please enjoy the items we’ve selected and take special care that future guests can enjoy the same. You will find fine Italian bed linens and Matouk towels. In the kitchen, please enjoy the Wusthof Ikon knives, All-Clad and Le Creuset cookware, Riedel wine glasses and crystal barware. Guest access THE KITCHEN: Please explore the kitchen! For the coffee drinkers we have a french press and a drip machine, which you will find in the cabinet to the left of the fridge. Please help yourself to the variety of teas and coffee in the same cabinet. There is also olive oil, red wine vinegar, butter, shelf stable milks and fresh local eggs for your use. Spices are in the upper cabinet to the right of the stove. The microwave is in the same pantry with the Wi-Fi router. Cleaning supplies and dish towels are under the sink, and laundry soap is in the cabinet to the right of the washer/dryer. THE BEDROOM In the bedroom closet you will find robes, extra blankets and pillows and an iron with a small ironing board. There is a flashlight on the bedside table. THE BATHROOM On the windowsill you will find towels and toiletries. There is a hairdryer in the sink cabinet. The linen closet outside of the bathroom contains extra towels and bedding as well as extra paper products and items you may need. THE SECOND BEDROOM & STUDY The Study not only has a large workspace, but also a queen bed for extra guests. There is a flashlight on the bedside table. THE LIVING ROOM Enjoy the real wood burning fireplace with lovely views of the lake and the East garden. GARDEN, LAKE AND WILDLIFE Enjoy gardens, the lake and the wonders of NJ wildlife. Our 5-acre property is surrounded on three sides with 60 acres of protected wetlands! This is a bird watchers paradise but also be aware that deer are on the property almost daily and on very rare occasions we see bears. So please, never leave trash or food outside. Other things to note NAMASTE Please enjoy the use of the yoga mats and meditation cushion which are kept in the Living Room closet. Feel free to push the coffee table aside in front of the fireplace or take a mat outside and enjoy the lake and garden. HVAC Each room has its own heating and cooling unit. There are 4 units total and each has its own remote control mounted near the unit. The heat in the bathroom is controlled by a wall switch and it also has a heated floor. Please adjust all units to meet your comfort needs. We kindly ask that you do not run heat in one room and AC in another because it could compromise the entire system resulting in major repairs. WATER AND SEPTIC The property uses well water which is treated by a neutralizer and water softener to ensure the highest quality of potable water. In addition, the property has a self-contained septic system so please be mindful and only flush toilet paper (please use trash bin for wipes or feminine products.) TRASH AND RECYCLING There are small trash and recycling bins, and extra bags, under the kitchen sink. Should you need to empty them during your stay, there is a gardening shed next to the main house where we keep large trash and recycle bins. You can see the back of the stone shed from the cottage. Feel free to walk across the lawn towards the front of the main house and be sure to close the shed door when you leave. FOR YOUR SAFETY There is a first-aid kit in the hall linen closet. In addition, there are three Nest smoke and Co2 detectors in the cottage. There are two fire extinguishers, one under the sink in the kitchen and one by the fireplace. SECURITY CAMERAS AND FLOOD LIGHTS The main entrance has a Nest video doorbell. The front and the back of the cottage have motion activated Nest security cameras and flood lights for general property security. There are NO cameras inside the cottage.
