La Limonaria Homestay
Come to our homestay and enjoy the beautiful community of Sontule. We have been hosting visitors for many years. Marvin is a coffee farmer and Mefalia is a school teacher. Sontule is off the beaten path, you will experience rustic, rural Nicaraguan life. We provide delicious meals (included in price), an immersive cultural experience, and the simplicity of farm life. You will stay in our guest cabaña, next to the family home, right next to our coffee plantation. The space The guest cabaña is a few steps away from our kitchen and family home. The cabaña has two twin beds and one full bed. There is a private bathroom with cold water for the shower. The cabaña is newly constructed, but is also rustic. Think of your stay as glamping. Your window opens to a view of coffee farm. Your porch overlooks a valley below the house. Guest should expect to be treated like family and welcomed to enjoy meals together (dietary restrictions can be accommodated). We don't speak much English, but we are always able to communicate with our guests to share about our culture, family and farm. Guest access Guests are welcome to spend their time in wherever they feel most comfortable. Most guests spend time walking in the coffee plantation, chatting in the kitchen, and relaxing on the porch. During your stay Most guests enjoy interacting with the family during their visit. If guests prefer privacy, that is completely fine also, just let us know! Other things to note To arrive to our farm you must either take the bus from Esteli (about 1 hour ride from the Cotran Norte, leaves every afternoon at 2:15pm), or drive a vehicle with 4-wheel drive to Sontule. The most direct route includes driving through a river, which is why 4-wheel drive is necessary. We can provide more up to date information at the time of booking, as bus time sometimes change. You can find La Limonaria Homestay and Coffee Farm on online maps.
