There are also plenty of restaurants in the area, and if you like Chicago, It's also only 40 minutes away. Come enjoy our fully stocked coffee/tea bar or a cocktail using our beautiful glassware! The space Our home is a historical landmark for the town of Merrillville and was built in 1885. It is an old home, but nothing about the appearance would suggest that. Although we did quite a bit of remodeling, we wanted to keep the old world charm of the house to show it's original character, so we mixed that with modern decor and lighting, and what you have is a perfect blend of charm and elegance. We kept the original floors and texture on some of the walls and when you go upstairs, you'll notice that in the bedrooms there are low, curved ceilings. Because the ceilings are LOW in the bedrooms, and we have CEILING FANS, please be mindful if someone is tall. Also, with steep stairs, we recommend letting those who are elderly or with an impediment sleep in the bedrooms on the main level. All of our beds have a full mattress encasement that protect the mattresses against bedbugs, fluids, dust mites, bacteria and allergens, so bugs here! Another thing we did for your convenience and enjoyment, was give you a full coffee and tea bar, along with beautiful glassware for every type of cocktail you may desire. You also have an elegant VIP lounge area upstairs where you can take selfies, and enjoy your coffee or tea, in case you don't want to go downstairs. We have stayed in many Airbnbs ourselves, and the biggest problem was that, although it would sleep a large number of people, there was never enough lounging space to accommodate everyone. Well, you won't have that problem with us. We have plenty of space to gather together to dine, watch a movie, or just lounge. You pay a cleaning fee so let us do the cleaning. All we ask is that you tidy up behind yourselves by putting the dishes in the dishwasher, take out the trash, and removing all food. Don't worry about stripping the beds, we've got that covered.
