Enjoy the beautiful Lakes Region of central Maine! This charming 1900's home is on a quiet street, walking distance to Lake Maranacook town beach, and a minute stroll to Downtown Winthrop. Bring your kayaks and kayak from the backyard to Annabessacook lake! With 4 lakes, hiking trails on Mount Pisgah, boating, winter skiing nearby & ice fishing. Winthrop has all the outdoor fun! 2 bdrms & 1 bath on the 1st level & the entire 2nd level the ideal kids bedroom/hangout. All new furniture & bedding. The space Welcome to our adorable home built in 1900 our home offers 3 bedrooms, a king bedroom, an attached queen room and a 2nd floor bedroom with four twins, perfect for kids. there are enough beds for 8 guests, we find six or less work best with one bathroom . There is a pretty sunroom off the King Bedroom to have your morning coffee or plug in the sparkling lights on the exposed rafters for perfect after dinner cocktail lighting. The first floor Queen and King bedrooms adjoin via French doors. All the bedrooms have ceiling fans. The upstairs bedroom also has a window air condition unit. The attached barn and mud room have beach chairs, lawn games, coolers, beach towels and a beach buggy for an easy walk to the town beach. We are located on a quiet dead-end street, right in downtown Winthrop. A historic cemetery lines one side of the road. There are restaurants and shops a quick walk away, as well as Hannaford grocery store, Ace Hardware, Dunkin donuts and a few quick- stop stores all in a mile radius. Enjoy star gazing and s'mores at the fire pit by the small river in the in the backyard at night. This river allows you to kayak directly into Lake Annabessacook. There is a charcoal grill available for BBQing, and then enjoy the easy stroll for some ice cream on Main Street. A quick drive to Fast Eddie's for a real 1950's car hop, serving burgers, fries and red Maine hotdogs right at your car window, naturally also has ice cream and real old fashion ice cream soda's. Our home is located close to Hallowell which has great family friendly restaurants, breweries and shops on the Kennebec River. A beautiful walking trail along the river, you will be sure to see eagles in Hallowell! Highly recommend the Woodshed in Manchester, on the way to Augusta for a friendly outdoor lunch or dinner. Local musicians play regularly as well. The house and all amenities are for your use, there are plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry supplies, bug spray, shampoo, bath soaps, we also provide additional clean sheets, towels, blankets. Insta-Cart delivers to the house so you can pre order groceries/ supplies to arrive when you arrive. The Hannaford on Main Street has a pickup option. The Circle K, Ace hardware and Hannaford all sell bundles of firewood for the firepit in the back, all are all within a mile. I also leave a big bottle of tiki torch oil for the tiki torches. The yard is sprayed for ticks and mosquitos once a month to help control the biting insects. The house has reusable water bottles, plastic wine glasses and plastic cups as well as insulated wine glasses to bring to the firepit or to an outdoor spot. Enjoy the great hiking trails on Mt. Pisgah, all hiking levels or Vaughn Woods in Hallowell also has beautiful trails. Bring or rent paddle boards and kayaks, the lakes are so smooth, such a great way to spend the afternoon. There is also a boat rental in Winthrop, you may want to call or book in advance. Please call with any questions, issues or ideas! Keyless entry code given before rental. Other things to note Just adding a quick reminder that our home was built in 1900, over 120 years ago, therefor we do not have central air, but offer many fans and two window A/C units if there is a hot spell. We have a clean and stocked house ready for you to enjoy.
