Across the road from the Caribbean, 20 minutes from Hewannora International Airport, Flip-Flops is on the southwest coast of St. Lucia, a short drive along the highway from the village of Laborie. Looking out directly toward the Caribbean and St Vincent. A private pool is surrounded by gardens. under the blue sails. Fully furnished and equipped. The apartment is only suitable for couples. There is a superking size bed. There are two steps up to the shower room. The space The small kitchen area is equipped with a fridge/freezer, a small four burner cooker with oven, microwave and toaster allowing you to cook snacks and simple meals. There is a water cooler and the 5 gallon bottles can be arranged for you at cost. A daily, light cleaning service can be arranged if required. The lounge area has rattan furniture and a dining table and chairs for two. A 55 inch Sony TV allows access to Netflix, You Tube and apps. There is good, free internet access. (This can be adversely affected in stormy weather) Both rooms are air conditioned and have ceiling fans. The apartment is situated on the first of three floors. It has its own access and terrace space around the small pool. The garden area below has been planted with a wide variety of fruit trees which are growing quickly! We live in the main house above the apartment. The apartment is approx. a ten minute walk along the Main Highway to the junction (at Rudi John Beach and Aquarius on the Beach cafe) down into the village where there are a few bars and restaurants. The walk is along the road and would not be suitable for guests with mobility issues. The driveway to the house is from the Main Highway in the Sapphire area (known as Saffie locally). Arriving by car, the walk from the car-park to the apartment is flat, with a ledge at the doorway. There are two quite steep steps up into the shower room. The access to parking and the apartment is gated. We have two dogs, please let us know if you are not comfortable with dogs and we will keep them away from the apartment. The dogs are a poodle and a local, small rescue dog, who can still be very scared of people initially Guest access The apartment is independent of the house and resident guests have the sole use of the pool during their stay. Unfortunately, the apartment is not suitable for children of any age. Most guests find the apartment an easy walk to the village, approx ten minutes along the road. Some choose to walk down but organise a car to come back once it is dark. The apartment, pool and gardens are strictly only for the use of the registered guests. We do have two dogs, very friendly mutts, but if you are apprehensive about dogs, please let us know and we'll make sure that they are not near you. There are gates at both entrances to the apartment, which can be kept closed at all times. The dogs are kept out of the apartment at all times in case we have guests who have allergies. Other things to note Laborie is in the quiteter south of the island, much more traditional Lucian. Currently there are no night clubs in the village. At times there may be local events with entertainment to celebrate festivals etc. centred around the village square which is currently being renovated. The short journey to the international airport and easier access to the Pitons and other sites make it an attractive option for many travellers. One of the main features of the apartment is the ease of access via the main highway and proximity to the beaches. This does mean that there is road and beach noise at times however. We would not recommend vulnerable parties walking to/from the village in the dark. Should you choose to walk down to the village in daylight it would be possible to arrange a car service to bring you back after your meal or evening out in the village. The car service can also be arranged for shopping trips, half or full day excursions. We can make the arrangements for your arrival or let you have the details of the service in the village. It is advisable to book in advance. Also a local tour operator will, by arrangement, pick up our guests by the property and drop them back here after the tour, if arrangements are made in good time. Many of our guests have enjoyed tours to the waterfalls, the volcano and other local attractions including lunch, with Edmund Tours. Chef prepared meals can be organised, often guests arrange this for the first or last night if they have had a long trip and simply want to relax for the evening without worrying about going out or cooking. Breakfast and evening meals can be arranged for your full stay if you're anticipating a busy schedule and need the evenings just to relax. We're delighted to now have a massage therapist who will come to the property. Let us know if you would like an appointment. Some guests have found a chef prepared meal on their first evening, and beginning the next morning with a massage is the perfect recovery programme after a long flight If you are arriving on a Sunday afternoon or public holiday, when supermarkets are closed, we can fill the fridge with your requirements and let you have the receipt. We have been told that the apartment has enough space that it is pleasant for longer stays.
