The Jarl's Yurt is a luxurious Viking Themed Glamping (Glamorous Camping) & Spa experience offering guests 1/2 private acre overlooking the Green Valley & Mt Tahoma (Rainier). It is part of the 12 acres that make up Folkvangr, a future wedding and event venue and Douglas & Sarah's family home. The yurt's 700sqft interior is meticulously hand crafted to deliver a custom luxury glamping experience like no other. Exquisite wood details throughout, curated drinking horns, wooden plates, hand made ancient games, intricate carvings, natural fabrics, and so much more! The Jarl's Yurt also has a beautiful custom built fully enclosed 600sqft spa deck. There is a cedar barrel sauna, a wood fired cedar hot tub, and a cold plunge tub. It has a firepit, fountain, outdoor kitchen, outdoor hot/cold shower, and bathroom with composting toilet that is refreshed and cleaned between each guest. All amenities are private and for guest use only. It's a perfect romantic setting for 2 who want to have a relaxing getaway and experience hygge coziness on another level. During the Autumn and Winter months the Jarls Yurt stays warm, cozy, and inviting. There is a $25 fee to use the Wood Fired Stove in the Cedar Hot Tub. This is due to the fact that we light the fire in the morning to heat the tub for guests before they arrive and to ensure that we are not using additional resources for guests who do not want to use the tub. The Jarl's Yurt is on the same property as our home and workshops. We maintain quiet hours between 4pm and 10am for our guests. Between 10am and 4pm, we may be working on the property (light construction, property maintenance, gardening, etc) but strive to keep noise to a minimum. Feel free to say hello if you see us! Guest access Guests are able to self check-in with a door code. They have complete private access to the 700sqft yurt and 600sqft deck. They also have 1/2 acre of outdoor space surrounded by trees with multiple seating areas and a picnic table under a grape arbor. There is room to play Kubb (outdoor viking game), have a picnic, nature watch, and more. You may see wild animals while visiting including Bald Eagles, Owls, Racoons, Foxes, Bobcats, Pileated Woodpeckers, Deer, Elk, Coyotes, Ducks, Geese, a wide variety of Song Birds, and more! Other things to note We operate The Jarl's Yurt a little differently than common AirBnBs. We truly seek to provide you with a unique experience that you won't get anywhere else. We're quick to respond via the app, and are happy to work with our guests to curate their experience to make it absolutely unforgettable. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions, concerns, or additional needs you may have during your stay! The Cedar Sauna & Cold Plunge Tub are all included in the price of your stay. However, for safety reasons, guests are not allowed to use the Cedar Hot Tub & Wood Fired Stove in the Hot Tub without first purchasing the $25 Hot Tub Package. If you purchase the package, we will light the fire for you in the morning before check-in and ensure that the tub is hot upon arrival and provide you with additional fuel should you need it. We also offer the opportunity to pre-order thematic, ready to eat Viking style charcuterie boards and dinners. All the meats, cheeses, honey, jam, mustard, and breads are from local shops and are made fresh. We can provide the material for you to prepare an epic viking feast while staying with us! We will send you the menu after you have made a reservation if you wish to purchase a Viking Feast.
