The Nook is 5 mins on foot from UVA campus and the Stadium (perfect for game day and UVA events), yet located on a quiet side street away from the busy Fontaine Avenue. Within 2 mins walk, you will find a quaint little coffee shop, a gas station, a convenience store, laundry and dry cleaning facilities, and dining options. The space has been recently renovated to bring you a homey and cozy space to settle into! Reasonably priced quality, location, great sleeps! Hiking/MTB trails nearby as well. The space The Nook is perfect for a couple, or two friends. It has fast fiber internet that is perfect for road warriors and online workers. It is available for up to 30 nights. It is not suitable for people with special needs due to steps, a storm door, and a path through the backyard. No pets are allowed. If you need a bigger space for more people (max 6) please look at my other listings here on airbnb (The Dollhouse and The Cute). Availability for those listings are limited (graduation etc; please send me a message with your dates). The Nook (the current listing) has a private entrance accessible from the backyard, a quiet private porch with a seating area for 2. The quiet yard in the back of the house has a patio with seating for 2 as well as a large table with seating for 6, a 2 person hammock and lounge chairs. The combination living/dining room with a kitchenette includes a twin sofa bed if needed, which is suitable for a child or small adult (up to 5'6"). The table has 2-3 chairs. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, a sub-counter small fridge with freezer, microwave, Nespresso coffee maker with starter pods, an electric kettle, a toaster and cooking implements (microwave bowls, cutlery, dishes) to make quick meals using the microwave. The bedroom has a queen Murphy bed, a work desk with external monitor/smart tv, an armoire with a drawer, a folding suitcase rack, a folding ironing board with iron, a twin sofa. A single sofa-bed chair is available for this room also. The bedroom also has blackout curtains and extra pillows. There is an en suite bathroom with a rain shower. Additional amenities include, besides the basics (linen, towels, cleaning supplies etc.), an ironing board and iron, hair dryer, snacks, fruit, coffee/tea and sweeteners. *Free parking for one car on the street with a City guest pass 24/7; lost/not returned passes will incur a $200 fee. *Note there is no washer dryer but 2 launderettes are available within 2 mins walking*. *For stays of 3 weeks or more a refundable deposit and separate rental agreement are needed* *There are exterior security cameras on property* Guest access There is a lit unpaved path leading to the backyard and from there to the rear porch. Please note The Nook is NOT an accessible space due to the path and the 5 steps leading up to the rear porch. Other things to note Things to do in immediate vicinity: -UVA: Stadium (5 mins walk), main campus/Rotunda and Lawn, Corner (20 min walk, 10 min run). -Atlas cafe (artisanal coffee and cake, around corner). -Fire Spring's station (cocktails/drinks, brunch, lunch, dinner, around corner). -Durty Nelly's (pub drinks, around corner). -Guadalajara (lunch/dinner, Mexican food, around corner). -Thai food and sushi restaurants (around corner) -Oakhurst cafe (brunch, lunch, coffee, 6 mins walk). -Walk/run/hike the Rivanna trail (access from across Fontaine Research park entrance within 5 min walk). -Hike/paddle/bike around the Charlottesville reservoir (6 min drive). The area is generally very bike and run friendly. A little further out: -Alamo drafthouse and a host of other dining options near Wegmans, 7 min drive). -Hospital area, Main Street and Charlottesville Downtown (7-15 mins drive). Further afield: Hop onto 29 from Fontaine (1 min by car) and from there access a wide array of things to see and do, incl. Monticello, Ashlawn, Michie Tavern, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Sugar Hollow, Foxfield, vineyards and wineries, seasonal fruit picking, road biking, scenic driving in western Albermarle county (within 30 mins by car)... the possibilities are endless. Amenities nearby: -Gas station across Apple street (around corner). -2 food mart/conveniences stores, one with an ATM inside (around corner). -Laundromat and 2 dry cleaners (around corner). Grocery stores nearby: -Foods of All Nations (down Alderman road and to left). -Food Lion (towards Harris street). -Wegmans (towards Harris street). -Harris Teeter and Kroger at Barracks Shopping Mall (7 mins drive). Pharmacies nearby: -CVS (Barracks, Corner, near Food Lion).
