Red Butte Retreat is a large, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home has the look and feel of a cabin with modern finishes and amenities that will give you the comforts of home. Access to Shoshone National Forest is mere feet from the front door. On a quiet, country road just 8 minutes outside of the town of Lander, Red Butte Retreat gives its guests a peaceful getaway with the ease of close town access. The space Inside: The main floor of this house is composed of a fully stocked kitchen with exceptional appliances and a dining area, a cozy living room with an electric fireplace, comfortable seating with a couch that has two built-in recliners, a smart TV, and access to the lower, covered deck that spans the width of the house. The main floor also contains a bedroom with a queen bed and an attached full bathroom. Upstairs is a cozy loft with a reading and coffee nook, a dedicated workspace (this house has fast wifi via Starlink to meet all your internet needs), a bedroom with a king bed and access to the upper deck, a bedroom with 2 twin beds, and a full bathroom. Heating and cooling are available through central heating that runs throughout the entire house, and an electric fireplace in the living room gives off heat if desired, as well. Outside: Red Butte Retreat borders a working ranch. Enjoy watching the ranch animals, but please do not touch/pet them. The ranch owns 3 large, white ranch dogs that heard/guard the sheep. These are working dogs, and they will take you trying to pet the sheep as a possible threat to the sheep. Additionally, do not try to call to/pet the dogs. They will leave you alone as long as you leave their sheep and them alone. Access to Shoshone Lake Road cuts through the bordering ranch and is via vehicle (ATV or rugged terrain vehicle) or bike only- no walking. There is parking at the top of Shoshone Lake Road, and from there, one can exit vehicles and hike (backcountry hiking- be bear, mountain lion, and rattlesnake aware/prepared). Guest access This house sits at the end of a country road with a working ranch that borders the backside of the house. There is ample paved and gravel parking, and the entire two-car garage is available for inside parking. The front and back yard has lush grass, and a variety of lawn games are stored on the back deck for guest use. There is also a propane BBQ available to guests as well. We do have neighbors who value the peace and quiet of the area. Please come and relax and enjoy; however, parties and/or events are not allowed. Other things to note Lander is centrally located from many amazing places and boasts easy access to world-class rock climbing (Wild Iris and Sinks Canyon) and camping.
