With nearly 300 reviews between our two places (across street from each other), folks love our central location to everything and just a quarter mile walk to Washington St. Harpers Ferry is a walking town an we are at the end of Washington St with more of the good restaurants, entertainment, wine bar, escape room, convenience store, bank, massage/nail salon, Bolivar Bread and much more. Wineries, tubing rafting, breweries, hiking and biking trails. This home makes a great romantic couples retreat or a wonderful place for families up to 6 (three bedrooms), maybe 8 if a few want to sleep on nice couches. Huge 65 inch Smart TV (SirusXM app, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.) in living room with sound bar, watch your favorite movie while sinking into the mega couch stretched out or feet propped on a pouf. We planted over 70 trees, 300 shrubs and over 2,000 bulbs at the townhouse and the surrounding area. We considered blooms for each month year round. Walking distance 0.25 miles to many nearby restaurants on Washington St. Short walk to a nearby National Forrest. Hike down the other side of the mountain (really a large hill) down to the Potomac River, or enjoy dozens of other nearby hikes. The mid-point of the Appalachian Trail is nearby. Beautiful mountain views. Local activities include zip-lines, tree adventure parks, tubing, rafting. It's a short walk/hike 1.0 miles to Old Town HF. Take Washington St. or walk along the Potomac river to Harpers Ferry old-town. Keep in mind that entertainment and food is mostly near our end of Washington St, not Old-town HF. It’s clean and modern. The wifi extender [cell phone booster tower] really helped because there’s not much signal there [anywhere around Harpers Ferry]. It’s very centrally located. We took day trips to the Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian Museum, Shepardstown, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, lower town Harpers Ferry, and tubing on the Shanendoah river. There’s some charming restaurants and shops close by. Our family loved doing a virtual escape room at Rations Spaceport. We also enjoyed spending time at the house watching shows on the giant TV and napping on the enormous couch. All the linens were provided and are very nice. Check out instructions were clear.
