The Cabin
Welcome to The Cabin! This cozy, rustic cabin is a part of 85 private acres in Danville, VT, just up the road from The Forgotten Village at Greenbank’s Hollow. Perched at the crest of a 12 acre pasture, enjoy both local and long range views of the Presidential Range. Trails lead you in various directions throughout the woods, just right for hiking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. The Cabin is a place to breathe deep, enjoy nature, and simply get away from it all! The space This retreat is truly off-grid… No Running Water Or Electricity. Due to two recently installed solar panels however, there is a small fridge and ceiling fan. It is possible to drive to the cabin when there's no snow on the ground. In the winter, snowshoes will be necessary and available if needed. The cabin is 900 ft. from the road, about a ten minute uphill walk from the parking spot. The cabin size is 11’x15’ with a covered 5’ porch. An outhouse is behind the cabin, which also serves as storage for firewood. There is a solar shower available for summer use. 10 gallons of water is provided in the cabin and more is available if needed. A vented propane heater will keep you toasty in winter, but we do recommend slippers as the floor can be chilly! Two battery powered LED lamps provide light. There is a sleeping loft with a full size futon, as well as a full size sleeper sofa. Blankets and pillows are provided, but please bring your own linens/sleeping bag and towels. A two-burner gas stove is at the ready for cooking, or enjoy cooking over a fire in the fire pit (located right in front of the porch). Basic utensils and cookware are at the ready. An allotment of dry firewood is provided. Should you want to keep the fire going, there is plenty of wood around the cabin and in the woods to collect and burn (a saw and ax are provided as well). For those needing to get in touch with the outside world, both AT&T and Verizon cell services are adequate.
