The space The apartment is in a Spanish colonial style residence. It is completely furnished, well-cared for in details, elegant, and charming. It has one very large bedroom, an additional room/office, a dining-living area, a kitchenette and a bathroom. The interiors evoke the calm charm of its Spanish style surroundings. The fine architectural details seen throughout invite guests to experience a comforting richness in each room. As soon as you enter the apartment you will realize you are in a typical house of the old Quito with carefully crafted, hand-made wooden furniture and a warm atmosphere. All doors and furniture are made of local solid woods lovingly worked by local artisans and carpenters. The interior design, a masterpiece of colors, was created to enhance the classic Ecuadorian country style furnishings. You will be surrounded by warm, relaxing tones and antique inspired lighting fixtures, white-washed walls, with features such as large, brick arches inside the apartment!! All the floors have been laid with red terracotta tiles. The old-style ceilings made of wood beams enhance the rich and elegant decoration in the typical style of the Ecuadorian countryside. As you step into the living-dining room, you will notice large windows from where you can enjoy an enchanting view of the colonial town of Guapulo and the Andes mountains, including the Cayambe snowed capped volcano. The dining area features a sofa, a coffee table and a solid wooden table that accommodates 6 people, where you will enjoy that early morning cup of coffee or tea, as you watch the sun rise behind the mountains. The apartment has a well equipped kitchenette, with a stove & oven, a refrigerator, and a microwave. The countertop is paved with Spanish blue tiles and the country-style cabinets are made of solid wood, with hand-made cast iron handles. The living/dining area communicates with the bedroom which is just as cozy as the rest of the apartment. The bedroom has a full/double size bed, and a spacious custom-made wooden closet. Other things to note Upon entering the building you'll find a beautiful old garden offering an exceptional Andes mountain view. Architectural details include red terracotta tile floors, wooden doors and windows, stone details, and large brick arches. Hand-made iron accents throughout give the building an old-world charm. The residence offer an enchanting Andean garden; the owners have spared no expense on decor, including exposed stonewalls, cast iron tables and chairs, an array of local hand-made pottery and stone art pieces. The well designed garden face the sun and you will enjoy a panoramic view of Guapulo and the mountains beyond. They frame the residence with abundant Andean flowers that bloom all year round, different local trees and shrubs.
