This clean modern suite has it all. Only 3 miles from Montpelier on paved road with xc skiing and downhill ski areas nearby. On 25 acres of woods and fields you can relax on the back deck, watch for birds, foliage, or see wandering wildlife. Full kitchen. 1 Queen bed. Office has 1 single bed. Limit 1-3 guests Private entrance has ramp for easy access. Comfortable for a peaceful getaway, college visits/homecoming/commencement, ski/hiking activity or working remotely. No pets. No smoking/vaping. The space This is a pet-free space. Although we love dogs, we are not able to accept your pets at this time. We do have an occasional visiting dog on our property as well as free range chickens, bees, and sometimes seasonal livestock like our grassfed beef. You'll find the space to be healthy and ever so clean and we are a smoke free/vape free property. Great wifi for working remotely. This location features a full kitchen which is stocked with all the cooking utensils you may need, sitting room, main bedroom has a queen bed. The office can serve as a second sleeping space with a single/twin bed and a pocket door for privacy. Full bathroom, and a deck out the sliding doors. The back yard and fields are expansive. We live in the main house with a separate entrance from the guest area so you may see us as we feed the chickens, get out skiing, work in the garden, head up to the green house, carve wooden spoons, or are sitting around the fire pit. We are in and out, happy to help when you need something, and fine to leave you to your own privacy. Now a proud Super Host, my former work was in public health and Larry and I are mostly retired. He works seasonally with his former business, ZoomBikes, still servicing e-bike customers here at the carport for tune ups and consulting. Guest access You are welcome to walk the lawn and paths around the fields or access the nearby cross country trails in the winter. The barn is not accessible to our guests as it is mostly equipment storage, machinery, and has no cute animals to pet. Enjoy a walk on our new "Bluebird Loop", a mowed path through fields and woods. This trail is accessible across the lawn from the back deck and is marked with signs which start at the bluebird house. Peek inside and maybe see mama on the nest or hear some babies, bluebirds are pretty comfortable around humans. This is a little over a half mile and may take about 25 minutes. It will take you around the perimeter of the property and you may see wildlife such as deer, groundhogs, wild turkey, and past the apiary. Other things to note Heat: Vermont weather may bring cooler evening temperatures and winter snow. Stay cozy with a cup of tea and use the mini split/heat pump heating unit on the Heat setting and adjust the temperature. For extra warmth, find a duvet or extra blankets, and a portable heater in the bedroom closet. A thermostat for baseboard heat is available for back up when it is really cold. Cooling system: There is a "mini-split" system which can be adjusted to the Cool setting and temperature in order to feel like air conditioning. Please turn this off when not in use or when leaving for the day. In addition, there is a portable fan in the bedroom and in the office. Windows have screens and can be opened for a cool breeze. Please make sure to close windows when leaving and forecast calls for rain. Kitchen: You will be welcomed with some locally sourced snacks-- a sample of Big Gear coffee and a small milk in the fridge, apples, award winning Cabot cheddar cheese snack slices as well as teas and a taste of our honey. Take out is available in town or cook for yourselves with stove, oven, microwave, full fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee makers, tea kettle, pots and pans and dishes. Kids coming? Let us know in advance if you are travelling with a small child and need the pack and play portable crib, high chair, or toys. Space is comfortable for up to 3 people. The rate is for one or two guests. To add a third person is a small extra charge of $25 (including children over 2 years old if they are the third person) Contact me for any special requests. ETA: It is great to hear from you with an estimated arrival time as the porch and hall lights will be left on for you if you are arriving after dark which you can turn off once you are settled in for the night. Check in is at 3:00 pm. You may park up close to the ramp and let yourselves in. The porch door stays unlocked. You will find your door with keypad code in the hall. Check out is 11:00 am. Please let me know if you will be leaving earlier so that cleaning crew can be notified.
