highlands Haven is a luxurious 4600 square foot stone and cedar mountain home on its own full 1 acre lot. With 6 Beds and 4.5 baths, the house is the perfect venue for family gatherings and small group get togethers including bachelor/bachelorette parties, bridal showers and baby showers. Nestled in the perfect location in the laurel highlands, the house is located off Countyline Road minutes from 7 Springs Mountain Resort, 20 minutes from Ohiopyle State Park, 20 minutes to Hidden Valley Resort. The space Highlands Haven has everything you need for your mountain getaway. Relax outside in our extra large hot tub or roast some s’mores over our picturesque fire pit (firewood provided) or make a pizza in the outdoor stone pizza oven! Barbecue with your choice of a commercial 6 burner propane grill or a charcoal grill (propane included). There are 2 large decks, one is covered and the other is in the sun with lounge chairs perfect for laying out on a nice day! The kitchen is extra large and it is open to the dining and downstairs living area which makes it perfect for entertaining! There are 2 main large living spaces (one downstairs/one upstairs) perfect for giving the kids their own space. There is a large 70" TV in downstairs living room and 46" TV in upstairs living space with DVD player. Why go to the bar when you have your own full bar with a full sized pool table. To top it off, there is a kegerator, extra second full fridge and tv in the bar area. Next to the bar is a half bathroom and there is laundry room in case you need to dry some ski gear. We also have an extra large ski boot dryer to keep your ski boots nice and dry for your stay! Highlands Haven is fully stocked with linens, towels and cooking supplies. Shampoo, conditioner, soap and toilet paper are stocked in all the bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook for large groups. There is a keurig and a regular coffee maker. The main dining table seats 8 but there is extra seating next to it on the breakfast bar. If the weather is not cooperating, there are plenty of board games to keep you occupied and there is also a pack and play for toddlers. Guest access The entire house and property is accessible to guests. Other things to note Highlands Haven is centrally located in the Laurel Highlands area which boasts a ton of outdoor and indoor activities. The house is located in the perfect location on the way from Pittsburgh to Seven Springs Mountain Resort just minutes from the ski slopes. Seven springs is a full season resort with plenty of activities for every season. In the winter, Seven Springs is a ski resort with world class snow making in case winter doesn’t cooperate. Seven Springs has several restaurants, several bars, an indoor pool, sporting clays, snowmobiling and bowling to keep you busy if ski conditions aren’t good for a day! There are 2 more small ski resorts located 20 minutes away. Hidden Valley Ski Resort and Laurel Mountain Ski Resort are smaller resorts but are perfect for beginners and teaching the little ones! The Laurel Highlands offers a ton of activities for the spring, summer and fall as well. Spring and summer activities include hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, sightseeing, golf, wineries, caverns, parks, idle wild amusement park, sporting clays, zip lines, the alpine slide, pools and atv trails. Let’s start with hiking. Popular hiking spots include the Laurel Highlands Trail, Ohiopyle State Park and Bear Run Trails. There are a ton of other trails but those are some to to check out. My favorite are the hikes are Ohiopyle! If biking is your thing, then you are at the right place. There are plenty of downhill, single track and mellow trails in the area. Seven Springs resort has a good downhill course and you can rent bikes at the resort if needed. There are also a ton of single track trails around the resort if that’s your style of biking. If you want something more mellow then head to Ohiopyle and ride the scenic more friendly trails or just down the hill along Indian Creek. Next up is whitewater rafting! Ohiopyle State Park offers 3 rivers to raft. The upper youghiougheny is advanced, the lower youghiogheny is intermediate and the middle youghiogheny is beginner so there is something for every group. If fishing is your thing then head to one of the the many creeks and rivers to to some trout fishing. If the weather is not cooperating on your getaway then maybe take a day off the outdoor activities. There are several wineries in the area to check out that offer tastings, I would recommend Stone Villa and Greendance wineries. Both wineries are 20 minutes from the house and you can easily spend a hour or 2 hanging out tasting wine and relaxing. A good family activity to do especially if it’s raining is to check out laurel caverns. Another local attraction perfect for the family is Idlewild Amusement Park which has some fun rollercoasters and is perfect for the little one. Idlewild is 30 minutes away in Ligonier which is worth stopping to check out if you go to Idlewild. Another activity which I enjoy in Laurel Highlands is sporting clays. Seven springs has an awesome course and if you want to venture out a bit, Nemacolin Resort has a good course as well. Make sure to make a reservation. Nemacolin is a 40 minutes from the house and is worth checking out if you want to see Pennsylvania’s only 5 star resort. They have a small casino which is entertaining for a bit and a zoo on the property. There is another small zoo called living treasures 5 minutes from the house too which is a fun family activity. The other activities worth mentioning are zip lining, the pool and the alpine slide at Seven Springs Resort. This is a good summary of the activities in the area but I have extensive knowledge of the area and I can answer any questions to help you plan out your mountain vacation!
